Descripción

This light-filled studio has one large room and kitchen, both overlooking the Karhupuisto park. Small bathroom. At the moment, the apartment has only basic furniture (bed + mattress + kitchen table and chairs) because it will be redecorated soon.

A bright and spacious 37 sqm studio. The bed fits two and there is also an extra mattress available. NB! The apartment has only basic furniture because it will be redecorated later on.

Wifi available. Functioning kitchen with basic necessities (pots, pans, cups, plates etc.), fridge/freezer, stove and water kettle. Bedlinen and towels are provided.

I enjoy sharing tips about Helsinki with visitors, and will try to be available for your questions by e-mail, phone or in person to my best ability. Mostly, I will be out of town when the apartment is available.

The neighbourhood of Kallio has changed quite a lot in the last few years - now there are coffee shops, quirky vintage stores, restaurants and pubs on almost every street. My favourite spot is the Kallio library, just across the street (where you can even borrow a game of petanque!), or the numerous smaller and larger parks.

Great public transport; trams 1,3 and 9 stop right outside the building, the metro is 4 blocks away. The bus 615 from the airport stops 3 blocks away and takes 35-40 minutes. The city centre is less than 10 mins away by public transport and 15-20 mins by foot.

In May-July, I can usually only book guests to stay for three nights or more.

Please note that the apartment is not completely furnished and stylized like a home yet, because the tenant has moved out and the apartment will be redecorated soon. Also note that in the summer, the sun rises very early in the morning, so remember to bring a sleep mask if you're a light sleeper. The room doesn't have a darkening curtain.

The neighbourhood is quite lively, which sometimes is reflected in happenings e.g. in the park outside, so there can be noise in the evening. There is a fire station nearby and the tram stop is right outside the building, so although the building itself is quiet, there is some noise from the street.

There is no balcony, even though one of the guests states so :) The windows are quite nice, though!

Hazel is a very nice and helpful host. I loved her apartment and the neighbourhood. She gave me a bunch of tips on where to go for food etc. After this I always want to stay in Kallio when I'm in Helsinki! The nearby park tends to be lively at night, which I liked! But that's probably a consideration for people sensitive to noise. The central part of town is within 10-15m walking. The tram station is just outside the door though, so any part of the city is easy to get to.

Hazel and her spacious studio apartment in Helsinki was great. Hazel in particular was very helpful with any questions we had and went out of her way to help us navigate the city. The apartment is very big with a lot of room in the kitchen and main room. The one bed is very comfortable.

I love travelling (especially by train!), good food, laughing, and improvisation. I enjoy showing people around Helsinki, or if I'm away, sharing tips on my favourite spots to see and experience.
