My wife and I stayed at Jeremy and Kate's New York flat for 33 nights. To be honest, we find our experience to be dissatisfying and uncomfortable.
First, prior to our booking, the location of their apartment was shown on the map as next to the Columbus Circle (59th street 7th avenue). However, after our booking, we were informed that the booked apartment is located instead at 50th street 8th Avenue (at least 15-minute walking distance between the two locations).
Second, after we arrived at the apartment, we find that most of the other apartments next to our apartment were undergoing major renovations. On every single working day during our stay, many workers came to do renovation work at 9am and finished at 5 or 6pm. The noise from these renovation was unbearable and highly disruptive for us to live and rest properly.
Third, upon our arrival, we realized that the apartment was run and managed by real estate agents. On the third morning, they called us and demanded that in a few hours they had to bring clients to our apartment for viewing. Provided the very short notice, we feel that our privacy has not been well respected. We called back and expressed our dissatisfaction, however, the situation was not improved; after that, we still received four more similar short-notice calls and visits for client viewing.
Fourth, a week before our check-out, the estate agents sent someone to inspect our apartment without informing us. One of their colleagues arrived at the building and asked the doorman to ring us for an inspection. Their colleague entered our apartment and started to inspect and taking photographs at different locations. Being very upset by this sudden inspection, we called and wrote email to them, hoping to confirm that there wouldn’t be any more inspections to be taken place before our check-out. They confirmed us that there would not be any more inspections. However, one day before we left, we were informed again for another inspection.
Overall, we were very exhausted because of the various short-notice client viewing and inspections as well as the prolonged disturbance due to the renovation in the building.
