Información sobre este anuncio
Every window of our sun-filled, open-concept house looks out on towering maple trees which frame a pastoral view of the Green Mts. Outdoor enthusiasts can hike, snowshoe or cross-country ski right out the door on woodland paths and enjoy hidden gems of swimming holes as the weather warms. The bedroom comfortably fits one to two with adjoining private bathroom. A 5 min. drive to food & entertainment in Brattleboro.
The house is built on a diagonal floor plan, with a modern feel, exposed beams overhead and floor to ceiling windows showcasing views of gardens, surrounding fields and forests. Combining various time periods in its decorations, it features a Victorian mantle piece, a 50's-era diner booth, and refurbished sinks and claw-foot tubs. Bathroom is adjoining bedroom and is private, for guest use only. Relax in front of the wood stove after a day of exploration in the winter or take a snooze in the hammock on the screened porch or do yoga on deck as the weather warms.
Servicios y zonas comunes
Guests will have access to all the facilities on the 1st floor of the house, including private bathroom for their use only; kitchen, living and dining rooms, screened porch with hammock and deck. Washer and dryer in laundry room downstairs can also be used 1-2 times a week.
Atención a los huéspedes
We hope to be able to welcome guest personally and give them an orientation to our home as well as provide answers to any questions about the property or area. We will be sleeping on the 2nd floor of the house and during the day and evening may be using the common spaces.
The neighborhood is quiet and bucolic, a steep hillside dotted with relatively new houses tastefully constructed. Our home is on a dead-end private road and neighbors are very friendly and helpful.
Public Transit is very limited so bringing or renting a car (Enterprise Rent-a-Car) is essential, though Amtrak comes to Brattleboro station from Montreal and NYC and there is Brattleboro Taxi service. Parking at the top of our driveway is included in our listing for 1-2 cars. In the winter months, a 4WD vehicle is helpful for climbing the hill in a snow or ice storm, though there is a pull off at the bottom of the hill where one can leave their vehicle if road conditions necessitate. (One of us has a front wheel drive car and gets up and down most days without difficulty).

We came to Vermont for graduate school and never left! We've lived here for 20+ years and look forward to sharing our love of the area with you. Brian hails from the Midwest and Nanci is from the San Francisco Bay Area. We've stayed with Airbnb ourselves in the US and abroad and thought we'd give hosting a try. Brian is a training and facilitator consultant and Nanci works in fundraising and communications in the nonprofit sector. We've lived abroad and enjoy meeting new people. We can give you tips on the art and food scene in Brattleboro; and places to hike, kayak, swim, ski, etc. in the surrounding area, if desired.
