Great, historic farmhouse in Vermont just a short ride to Middlebury. Larry is a great host, the house is great and is loaded with charm & character of an antique classic new england home. Very happy with our 1 night stay here!

Had a great stay in this authentic farm house! It truly is like stepping back a century. Check in was easy and Larry had everything ready for us. Short drive into town. Enjoyed the breakfast and a morning chat with our host. Homemade blueberry pancakes, ham, and homemade maple syrup- all delicious! The host's significant other works late and we did hear them returning home around 0200. No big deal for us but it may bother others. Middleburry is a nice little town. We visited the Woodchuck cidery and another small brewery. Most dinner places seemed to close up around 8-9 so plan accordingly.

Although it was a short stopover, enjoyed the awesome views of larrys place. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Awesome breakfast prior to leaving Sunday.

Larry's place was amazing. Located in the Vermont countryside, with beautiful chickens following us like pets, and rolling hills and trees surrounding the house. The house itself was like something out of a magazine. Beautifully decorated with antiques, it was both homey and a feast for the eyes. And the bed was comfortable! We also just loved Larry, a consummate host who surprised us with gourmet breakfasts as part of the cost to stay. Such an amazing two days in Vermont!

The house is very old but well-maintained, and the air conditioner was a welcome modern addition. The bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. Although we were an easy ten-minute drive from Middlebury, it really felt like a retreat from the rest of the world. Larry was a very friendly and accommodating host.

I came to Vermont more than a dozen years ago, when I fell in love with this early farmhouse, the mountain location, and the fields below. As I tried to decide how to answer the inevitable “What do you want to be when you grow up?” question (the answer still eludes me), I apprenticed at one of the restaurants associated with Philadelphia’s famed “restaurant renaissance” while attending graduate school for cultural anthropology. Besides the B & B (and ongoing restoration projects) I teach Latin American Studies at SUNY in Plattsburgh, and raise polled Dorset sheep.
