Come stay in a 200 year old farmhouse on a small working sheep farm. The antique filled home is a perfect resting place as you explore Vermont! Enjoy the house and grounds,Hike Snake Mountain, or the many exciting things in Middlebury! (this is rm 2)

This lovingly restored farmhouse (built in 1804) will give you the opportunity to sense the past while exploring Vermont's vibrant present. Filled with antiques and period details, we have all of the modern conveniences as well! Visit the sheep and chickens, walk the fields, or take a hike up Snake Mountain (listed as one of the great short hikes in the state) to enjoy views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks.
**Please note when checking availability that we have two rooms available for B&B guests. Airbnb requires that they be listed separately.

Although you will be left in peace to enjoy your privacy, we have many suggestions of things to do and see while you are in the area.

We are a farm, on a private space, where fields, wetlands, and forest converge. This all makes it a birder or wildlife enthusiast's paradise, as all habitats come together.

There is no public transit. We are only 10 minutes from downtown Middlebury, and one hour from downtown Burlington.

You will be treated to a farmhouse breakfast in the dining room (with fireplace roaring on chilly mornings!) featuring our own eggs and maple syrup. With advance notice we can provide box lunches for hikers, or plan and host a dinner for parties up to eight. A great way to have an intimate dinner if you are visiting your Middlebury student!

Larry has a beautiful house. The 18th century style is maintained, so everything is beautiful but the bed is small. Good for us but taller persons might find it too small. Location is very nice. Great for a laidback weekend in Vermont.

Larry is a charming host. The farm is comfortable with a lovely living room. Sherry included. Breakfast was superb and the location is secluded, scenic and close to Middlebury. The farmhouse is a restored gem with historic features and art. We had a wonderful visit.

We loved our stay at Larry's farmhouse! It was so peaceful to fall asleep in the silent countryside, and watching the sun rise from the window and meeting the sheep in the morning was very exciting after a trip up from the city. It was also great getting to meet Larry and learn about his life in Vermont, and the breakfast was especially amazing :)

Our stay at Larry's farm was incredibly peaceful. The entire house was beautifully decorated and cozy. Larry made us a delicious breakfast including maple syrup he makes on the property, which was such a treat! I've already recommended this spot to friends. Thanks again for making us feel so welcome!

I came to Vermont more than a dozen years ago, when I fell in love with this early farmhouse, the mountain location, and the fields below. As I tried to decide how to answer the inevitable “What do you want to be when you grow up?” question (the answer still eludes me), I apprenticed at one of the restaurants associated with Philadelphia’s famed “restaurant renaissance” while attending graduate school for cultural anthropology. Besides the B & B (and ongoing restoration projects) I teach Latin American Studies at SUNY in Plattsburgh, and raise polled Dorset sheep.
