Lane's Farmhouse is situated on a working farm in 'the holiday region of Blarney'.

Charming 1 bedroom apartment set in a quiet but beautiful location close to Blarney & Cork.
Peaceful, laid back and relaxing would best describe your stay.

A lovely (self catering) apartment adjacent to owners home set on private grounds surrounded by picturesque countryside in the Berrings town land.

This delightful apartment is adjacent to the owners residence situated on a working cattle and tillage farm. It is located in Berrings which is 15 kms from Cork City and 9kms from Blarney. A relaxing setting boasting wonderful countryside views in a mature garden which is shared with the owners’ home for your enjoyment. An open fire is to be enjoyed on those chilly nights.

The apartment features a double bedroom, sitting room with a sofa bed which can comfortably sleep 4 people. It has a bathroom with a shower and a separate fitted kitchen with good electric oven, fridge/freezer and microwave.

A very well cared for holiday home perfect for single, couples or family holiday makers wanting a sample of country life.

Closest to Berrings is Blarney which is just 8kms from Cork City, set in beautiful wooded countryside, it is an ideal base to visit the many wonderful sights of Cork and Kerry. Steeped in history and magical charm, Blarney village offers the visitor a host of wonderful things to do and places to discover.

One of the finest things that impresses the first time visitor is the well preserved village square. Blarney is one of the few villages in Ireland which has such a fine amenity, and today it continues to be a focal point of village life. In Tudor style, Blarney village has developed around the square which is owned and carefully maintained by Blarney Castle Estate.

Some great sights to visit include the legendary Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle. For many of the visitors to Blarney, their first priority is to kiss the famous Blarney Stone high up on the Castle battlements. Tradition holds that those who kiss the Blarney Stone will be endowed with the gift of eloquence - "the gift of the gab", as the locals call it.
"There is a stone that whoever kisses never misses to grow eloquent, he may clamber to a lady's chamber or become a member of parliament".

Shopping is a pleasure in the village where there are a number of excellent outlets, including the world famous Blarney Woollen Mills. Established in 1824, the outlet has become one of the largest craft shops in Ireland and is renowned for its quality produce. Blarney in olden days had been the site of thirteen mills with the production of linen, plour, paper, bleaching, dying and iron production, due to the natural layout of Blarney with the River Martin flowing into the Blarney River and this in turn flowing into the Shournagh River which proceeds to flow into the River Lee at Carrigrohane, near Cork City.

Blarney offers a superb variety of recreational pursuits to suit all ages. The golfer has several excellent eighteen hole courses to choose from; two within five miles of the village. There is a network of quiet country lanes for the walking enthusiast. Locally, you can fish for salmon, wild brown trout or coarse fish. There are several sports and leisure centres for fitness buffs located in the area, which offer everything from swimming to gymnasium facilities. For families there's a delightful woodland farm which features a meandering nature trail offering a mixture of fun, education and relaxation.

The apartment is adjacent to the owners residence and as this is a working farm.

The owner will be present at arrival and departure to assist with any queries, concerns and local tips.

There is a resident dog Rex who is extremely friendly and happy. Rex loves rubs, walks and playing. He is extremely good with children of all ages.

This quaint little farmhouse was one of the highlights of our trip. Betty and Owen were so delightful and accommodating and made our stay very comfortable. We hope we can make it back again in the future.

I can't say enough. Betty has thought of every thing a person could need during their stay. It's beautiful there inside and out. Having a fire each night was a delight. Betty and Owen went well beyond helpful. We had a big problem (our fault) and it was fixed right away. I will definitely stay again.

Betty was really wonderful. She treated us very nicely, was very responsive and I really felt like she was trying to make us feel like guests in her home. The post on the house I have to say is a little misleading. The main picture on the post is of a nice looking house (we stayed in similar for roughly the same price elsewhere on our trip) but it's really their house and the guest area is a small attached wing. So overall the place felt a little cramped given the expectation. The shower was in the bedroom which was a little strange, but manageable. The toilet had an open window up top into the shower - which as previously mentioned was in the bedroom - so sound wise it sounded like the bathroom had an open window into the bedroom. It was a decent and clean place, and Betty was really really nice. But I think overall we would have been a little happier with better managed expectations.

Betty was super easy to communicate with, and provided us with great directions on how to found the house (it is definitely difficult to find if you don't have gps coordinates!). The apartment was lovely - plenty of space, comfortable bed, and a wonderful fireplace to use in the living room. Would definitely stay here again.

Uncomfortable bed and sofa, very small, fire place fills place with smoke then she kicks you out for smoking a cigarette without notice, not private as the owner goes in every day. Lot better places nearby.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Berrings! Peaceful, picturesque , perfect. Betty was a lovely host supplying us with milk, eggs, fruitcake and other essentials. The apartment has everything you need. It's clean and comfortable and warm at night. Good wifi. Blairs Inn is nearby for a drink and meal with the locals . We visited Blarney Castle, Cork and Cobh. Lovely places! Thank you Betty!

We loved our stay at Betty's. My wife and I stayed with our 1.5 year old (as well as a friend and her young child) and the property was just as we imagined. The owners were very kind and helpful and everything was clean and tidy. They were very accommodating to our young children. Loved our time there.
