The Nook is a small apartment at the east side of the south facing main house. It has it's own separate entrance and a sunny sitting space outside which is great for al fresco breakfasts in the sun. The front garden is lawned with a pond and guests are welcome to sit in this space if they wish, children must however be supervised at all times as though the pond is small it is quite deep.

The level of interaction is dependent on the needs of every individual guest. If a guest would like healing treatments they may be available, as well as some light catering if needed and discussed in advance.
Our neighbours are a field away and there are a few farms above and below the property across the fields. It is a safe, friendly and peaceful area. Our favourite neighbours are the shetland ponies and their new foal living in the nearby field, who adore carrots! There are often cows, calves, sheep and baby lambs in the field next door to the entrance of The Nook.
It is a very convenient place to drive from to many local beauty spots and places of interest. We are six miles from Carmarthen train station, and just off the A48 which offers a good bus route with a regular service into Carmarthen or west towards Lampeter and Aberystwyth. Our nearest and most favourite beach is 15 miles away. The local woods are less than a five minute drive away situated in a beautiful peaceful valley on the outskirts of Brechfa forest. Brechfa forest is well renowned for its cycle trails and very popular with mountain bikers. There is a pit stop cafe called The Shed on the cycle trail which does good food. We are 3 miles from the temple of Skanda Vale, which is a popular destination for pilgrims.
In the town of Carmarthen there is a wide selection of shops, both well known and independent. There are a number of galleries and great cafes an many restaurants for all different tastes. There is a cinema, bowling alley and leisure centre with a large swimming pool. There are four large supermarkets situated in and around the town so there is lots of choice of places to pick up your supplies. There are also a couple of spa centres in the nearby countryside. We are 30 miles from the colourful and picturesque town of Tenby and easily in possible driving distance to spend the day out on any of the wonderful beaches and walks along the breathtaking Pembrokeshire coastline, as well as Oakwood theme park, Folly Farm and the beautiful Puffin Island of Skomer.
The Nook is a non-smoking apartment but we don't mind at all if people want to smoke outside in the guest seating area. Due to the size of The Nook we don't allow pets. For health and safety reasons the back garden is not accessible to any guests due to lots of uneven and steep steps.

I came to live in Wales 12 years ago because I was home-educating my two children at the time and I wanted to do it in a beautiful environment. I have a great love for the countryside and the sea, so living in this part of Wales is very nurturing as we are surrounded by green and stunning views and only a short drive to the coast.
I love to paint and I spend a lot of time in the garden growing flowers and vegetables. For many years I have worked with and taught many kinds of Alternative Healing. Guests visiting The Nook can request healing treatments as part of their stay if they wish.
