Main Street is a door away and is chock-full of great eateries, antique, stores, and art galleries. The River is a block away and supports great kayaking and boating, with Friday movie screenings al fresco, and free Sunday concerts in the Summer- same with the Chapel of Her Lady of Restoration, just a block away by the RR station. That’s the beginning too of the new 7 acre Dockside Park, complete with hikes for most seasons – a preamble to a bit farther on, with many more mountains to climb and trails to hike; “Take the Train to the Trail” for more info. A train ride south, and you’re in the lovely hamlet of Garrison with its art and drama groups regularly scheduling events.
A train ride north, and you’re in Beacon, chockfull of artists and artisans, including the DIA Beacon Museum, and an overall great little vibe.
Our village trolley will take you to Boscobel (2 mi.s away) which in addition to its famed Shakespeare and Theatre performances al fresco, hosts a Glorious Farmer’s Market May-October.
IF you have a car, you have the Appalachian Trail 7 miles & fantastic Fahnestock State Park about 11 miles away. (Bring Snow shoes/X-country skis! In the winter)
The Franciscan Graymoor Monastery, Buddhist, Chuang Yen Monastery, are both within an easy 12 minute drive. And Stonecrops Garden only 10.
& across the river, about 20 miles, the incredible Storm King Art Center, West Point, quaint Cornwall & Newburgh Waterfronts, and not at all far from the colorful Hudson Valley Wine Trails.

Note that we are on the street that runs parallel to the RR tracks. The train passing through has kept an occasional guest from getting a good nite's sleep. (all from the west coast interestingly enough)

We have super swift WIFI but NO TV - only old school variety w DVDs
ALso - parking is street parking directly on Market across the street as per signage; IN CASE OF SNOW & as per village ordinance, parking is around the corner on the south side of NEW STREET. the # to call to see if that’s called for is (845) 747-SNOW ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN))
As far as Beds go - one is King Size, 1 is Full, 1's a Queen size Futon and 1's a Queen size Pull out.. also an Xtra Long Twin Mattress available. If Futon is bing used, please ensure you return it to its upright position (carefully!) thanks - ((our housekeeping staff is limited to one person, and if you have need of the futon, it means you're at least 3-strong, so much easier to handle!)
