Ample parking. Ground floor facilities. NB: Pond and drop in garden.. Commanding stunning views over the Furnace Lakes to Clew Bay beyond, this homely, single-storey property sits peacefully amid large landscaped grounds. Situated on the Wild Atlantic Way tourist driving route, it is a perfect spot to get away from it all, yet only 4 miles from the thriving harbour town and angling centre of Newport, with castle, abbey, good restaurants, pubs, shops and boat trips. The extraordinary 28-mile Bangor Trail (Newport to Bangor Erris) passes by the door, with Nephin Beg mountains and Letterkeen Forest easily reached. Just 2 miles from the holiday property and with lovely views, the Great Western Greenway Cycling and Walking Trail, stretching 26 miles along the old Westport/Achill railway line which closed in1937, is open all year round and is ideal for cycling or stretching your legs. Westport (10 miles) is well worth a visit for Westport House (castle of the O’Malley clan). Newport is on a cycle track and bike hire is available in the village. Golf, fishing, riding and boating locally. Treen Bay 2 miles.. Approximate distance to Knock Airport is 55 km.
