With immediate access to New Town, The Water of Leith pathway and Glenogle's Victorian swimming pool and gym, my stylish flat is the perfect place to unwind and to enjoy the best my city has to offer.

The flat is all yours from the moment you arrive to town and it has a second to none self check-in facility which will allow you to arrive at your own time from 16:00 onwards on check in day. The space won't be shared with others.

Provisions for the Wood Burning Stove:

If you would like to make use of the wood burning stove I am happy to provide a small stock of wood for a cosy night in. Additional provisions are available to buy in a shop within walking distance from the flat.

Parking:

Parking is very limited in the area, which makes this property perfect for guests walking or using Edinburgh's public transport to move around town. However, there is public parking on designated areas on Glenogle Road as well as nearby ones. From Mondays to Fridays between 8:30 to 17:30 a fee is payable and this can be checked by reading the notice on the street parking machine. Parking is free out with these hours as well as during weekends. For free parking you the closest spots are available on Arboretum Road, just beyond the botanical gardens, which is a beautiful walk from the flat.

Stockbridge, a 10-minute walk from Edinburgh’s centre, is fast becoming the city’s new gastronomic quarter. New restaurants have opened where nearly everything that comes out of the kitchen is local, and there’s a flurry of new food stores and cafés.

Glaswegian cheesemonger extraordinaire George Mewes has just opened an outpost here, while the Edinburgh-based coffee-bean-worshippers behind Artisan Roast have chosen the area to launch their third café.

A microcosm of Scotland’s larder, Stockbridge Sunday market offers an assortment of constantly changing stalls and indicates what matters most to locals. The Eden Mill stand showcases its experimental gin from St Andrews, Caithness Smokehouse sells smoked fish from the far north-east of Scotland and then there’s Mavis, an orange 1976 VW Westfalia conversion, from which Steampunk Coffee is served roasted in North Berwick.

Add to this the nearby green spaces of Inverleith Park, with its sweeping views of the city, and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh open year-round, and you have all the ingredients for a great weekend away.

For a capital city, Edinburgh is remarkably green and nowhere more so than along the Water of Leith. This 12-mile riverine walkway begins in the Pentland Hills and winds its way through Stockbridge before reaching the Firth of Forth at Leith. The entrance to the path is 2 minutes walk from the flat.

Starting in Stockbridge, join the sign-posted walkway by Dean Terrace, opposite Pizza Express. The path will lead you past St Bernard’s Well, built in 1789 and inspired by the Roman Temple of Vesta in Italy, before reaching Dean Village, an area once known for grain mills powered by the river.

By the noisy waterfall you might see herons, ducks and even the odd kingfisher. Continue along the shady path and after 15 minutes or so you’ll arrive at the imposing Scottish Gallery of Modern Art and its adjoining sculpture park.
