Award-winning bed & breakfast inn with a focus on sustainability & renewable energy without sacrificing luxurious comfort. Solar and wind power, sauna, outdoor whirlpool tub, robes. Full liquor service, full breakfast, WiFi, even llamas & chickens!

This is guest room #8 with a king size bed, en-suite bath with shower and HUGE double whirlpool tub, fireplace, and private deck. This room is bright and sunny, with a view over the animal pasture with the barn beyond. Our 8-room fully licensed and insured inn is located far from the roadway on acres of country serenity in Hallowell, Maine, surrounded by rolling fields and woods with trails, yet just 3 miles to great dining and boutique shopping, 4 miles to the interstate, and under 5 miles to the State Capitol in Augusta. Maple Hill Farm has received numerous awards for their environmental work, including being named Maine's FIRST "Environmental Leader" green lodging establishment, and they feature wind power, and solar electric and hot water. There is convenient access from this second-floor room to the sauna and outdoor hot tub. Free Wi-Fi, in-room cable flat-screen TV, DVD player, full bar service, common guest kitchenette, and plenty of common spaces. Full breakfast included with room rates. Your innkeepers, Scott and Vince, have owned the place since 1992 and it reflects their personalities including farm animals down at the barn (mostly llamas!) and a strong commitment to environmental responsibility. Adjacent to 800+ acre Jamie's Pond wildlife area with additional trails. Ample parking. Rates vary depending on the season, so please contact us to get an exact rate before booking.

The entire inn and the many common spaces are available to all the guests. There is a gallery of local artists, pub area (no self-service), dining room, living room, front porch, and 150 acres of inviting fields and woods along with connecting trails to 800+ acres of public land next door. Common guest kitchen includes refrigerator and microwave plus full tableware. Sauna and outdoor hot tub available.

We provide a personalized check-in with a tour of the entire inn, and we are available either at the front desk or via a phone call anytime to our apartment right on-site.

Maple Hill Farm Inn is located in the idyllic countryside surrounded by rolling fields and woods. The nights are dark with views of the stars, and so peaceful you can hear the crickets sing. Neighbors are few and far between, but great restaurants and musical entertainment are just three miles away in the National Historic District of downtown Hallowell, and the state capitol building in Augusta, along with endless shopping opportunities, are less than five miles away.

Your own car is really essential for getting around the area, although there are taxis available. There is plenty of free parking at the Inn. We are just ten minutes from the Augusta airport (AUG -- which is very small), the Portland Jetport (PWM) is just an hour away, and Bangor (BGR) is about an hour and 20 minutes to our north.

Each guest room has a large flat-screen television with cable TV, a DVD player (a small library is available at the front desk), and a clock-radio-CD player that also has nature sounds.

This Inn is very lovely and they were very welcoming and communicative. I had some French toast for breakfast and it was rustic and delicious. Having a full bar on premises was great to end my day with a scotch and a soak.

I am sorry we arrived so late -- should have done research earlier! When the gas stove did not work in Room #8 we were quickly moved to Room #1 where the stove did work for the ambiance expected! Comfortable bedding, delicious breakfast, warm and friendly hosts! Thank you all…..

Scott (left in photo) and Vince (right in photo) have been innkeepers at the Maple Hill Farm Inn since 1992 (Scott) and 1995 (Vince). They are both native Mainers, Scott from Brunswick and Vince from Union. Scott graduated from Swarthmore College, is a registered professional engineer, and served in both houses of the Maine Legislature for 10 years. Vince repaired electronics for many years and is a self-taught cook, having grown up in a very large family. The "family" at the Inn includes nine llamas, an aging pony, and chickens laying farm-fresh eggs. The Inn exudes being "green" from the wind turbine on top of the hill, to the gleaming solar electric and hot water panels, to the high-quality LED lighting, to the green-certified cleaning products that are used. Scott and Vince are proud of being full-time innkeepers, and have built a very pleasant and comfortable inn at Maple Hill Farm.
