I do think I found my home away from home. After a long work day it is calming to return to my piece of paradise at Maple Hill Farms. Every day is a new day and every day produces a new and funny farm experience. The studio is comfortable and clean, and has lots of closet space for those who travel with a lot of clothes (like me). Philip is always a ray of sunshine in the morning (must be a morning person) and the pups are always happy to see you to. Everything you need is really there too - charcoal grill, lawn chairs, fresh air and quiet. Highly recommend this grounding, comfortable retreat.

This is not your typical Airbnb place... Philip and Larry's farm and all of their critters is a magical little place nestled in a lovely valley in Stephentown NY. When you get their you know you are somewhere special and are greated with a welcoming and pampered atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Another perfect stay on the farm. The best part is that you have llamas on three sides and chickens out the front window. And nothing beats watching a thunderstorm roll through - well, maybe the sunshine, which we have been missing. It was interesting to watch the llamas during a rainstorm (apparently they don't like getting wet)- all from the comfort of our own studio. Thanks to the rain everything is starting to bloom especially the beautiful yellow water lilies at the pond. The studio is a great retreat and is stocked with everything you need - pots, pans, utensils, etc. Philip is an awesome host. 5 stars.

As everyone said, this place is magical, charming, centered in a location perfect for exploring all of Berkshire County. I expected all that going in and got exactly what I'd hoped to get. What surprised me were all the small details that Phil had considered in order to meet needs and wants I didn't even know I had. Whether it was the surprisingly good portable speaker he provided or the small hummingbird feeder right outside the kitchen window, all these small details made the stay go from enjoyable to amazing. I cannot recommend this place enough.

A slice of Paradise. I can't say enough wonderful things about staying on the farm. Philip was the perfect host - he was there when we arrived, showed us around and reassured us the llamas would not put up with our hyper dog (and he was right - I even think Koda made friends with one of them). The farm is such a grounding place. I'm not sure who had more fun the dog or us. Koda loved playing with Fletcher and Rooney and they exhausted each other quite nicely. The studio was perfect - the mud room was a welcomed addition for a wet dog, especially on the rainy day. We were blessed to be able to experience the birth of a llama - that alone was priceless. Being on a farm, and so close to everything you need, is grounding and the perfect spot for a retreat. I was on a working trip so returning each night to the farm was the best part of my day. And I did love waking up to the roosters. The fenced in area for the dog was perfect so I didn’t have to supervise while getting ready each morning. Warm, comfy, cozy, grounding and perfect - sums up our stay.

I had booked the wrong weekend by accident and when I showed up Philip was a bit surprised, but luckily the house was available. Philip was very accommodating allowing my pet mini pig, Nini, to stay with me along with my dog. The fenced in yard was fantastic for them. The biggest surprise for me was the fact that the donkeys were right outside the font door. They were a fantastic welcoming committee for us. They were incredibly friendly and curious. The Llamas were across the driveway and when I went over to the fence to see them two came running over. They sniffed my hand and let me pet them. The chickens in the pen next to them were also happy to see me. They had a nice big coop and run. The whole farm was so clean and well tended. It was freezing weather outside, but all the animals had nice shelters with plenty of clean hay. The view of the farm was lovely. The house was cute and cozy. There was a great pellet stove to keep us warm. Overall, I had a nice stay. I will be back!

I have spent the past 25 years with my partner weekending in the Berkshires. We run a successful Llama breeding and showing operation on the farm and in addition to working as a Realtor in NYC, I travel the US and Europe working as a Llama judge. My life partner works out of NYC in the garment industry. We have two chocolate labs - Fletcher and Rooney as well as two cats named Felix and Oscar. The kitties are indoor cats.
