Come and experience a really different Egypt, far from the hassle filled tourist trail at Rouqayah's Ranch. We offer a unique opportunity to enjoy riding lessons, riding holidays, farm stay holidays and NEW from August 2013, spa breaks and treatmetns, on a traditional working farm in either fully catered or self-catering en-suite accommodation. Located about 65 kms from Alexandria and about 10kms inland from the Med, we are probably the ONLY agro-tourism facility in Egypt. We strive to be as self sufficient as possible, growing our own organic, free range foods for our animals and humans. Recycling is encouraged and we try to be mindful of our carbon footprint too. Swimming pool, secluded gardens, fresh air and a clean and friendly environment await you for a totally chilled out holiday, but we can also organise trips to do and see what ever you would like here in Egypt, be it visiting her famous monuments, diving in the Red Sea or seeing how the locals live and work . Raised on a Cornish farm, I had dreamed of returning to my roots after years of city dwelling. I embraced Islam in 1996 so the decision to realise my dream in Egypt was easy - having visited the place on many occasions, it really did feel like a 2nd home. I wanted to create a peaceful, self sufficient, environmentally friendly haven to grow old in, and quickly realised what a blessing it would be to offer the opportunity to others to simply leave the world behind for a while and be close to nature and her processes. I married my soul mate last year and we now happily run the place together.
