Backyard with flowers and fruit trees. Bamboo fencing and redwood table and chairs in backyard. Smoking is OK in backyard and on patio in unit with door closed.

You can stroll to the Grove...or Hollywood Highland, catch the tourist sights, see the stars, groove on Sunset..walk Runyon Cyn to Mulholland or walk to Hlywd Blvd.and see the famous attractions 15-20 minutes on foot. Or get tickets to the Bill Mahr show, or get tickets to Jimmy Kimmel and walk over to see the countless TV shows nearby. Bowling late at night at Lucky Strike at Hollywood/Highland center. Or go to the Hollywood Bowl or Greek Theater for outdoor concerts in summer.

And then take the metro everywhere....Universal City...San Diego...Santa Barbara ...take the metro at Hollywood Highland and Amtrak train to places of interest. Go online and check their schedules.

Walk and shop Melrose or check out the scene. Lots of Live Music and comedy venues (the Laugh Factory) within a 5-10 minute drive or walk, including movie theaters and stage shows.

Walk to the Directors Guild, where often there is some type of a film festival happening. And there are many hang outs and restaurants nearby that are open until 3 or 4 a.m. like Bosa Nova.

Walk 5 minutes to tennis courts, which are lighted for night playing , play basketball at Plummer Park...2 parks walking distance.

Check out the The Grove, Farmers Market, Beverly Center, Beverly Connection or Beverly HIlls, all within a 10-15 drive. The beach is a 35 minute drive with no traffic. Take the scenic route straight up (west) Sunset Blvd (but it will take longer to get there). Sunset takes u straight to the ocean and through Beverly Hills, Bel Air to UCLA to Brentwood, Pacific Palisades and then Will Rogers State Park and the Ocean.

Good transportation minutes (URL HIDDEN) the heart of the action. But we recommend a car for Los Angeles.

The nice areas are in West Hollywood/Hollywood, west of Highland. Just to the immediate north are the famous Hollywood Hills, where many film and television stars live...some very close by...others a few blocks away

Personally, I prefer this area because it is very centrally located.
But the weather and attitude here are what sells the place. And the attitude here is very free and laid back, especially in this part of the city, which draws the most diverse and creative and international population.

Meet LA Confidential and Too Big to Fail director Curtis Hanson on a Runyon Canyon walk, as I did. Teri Hatcher lives near Runyon...Andrew Dice Clay's house is walking distance away. Scarlett Johannsen lives in New York now but owned a condo walking distance away. She is very petite.

And the celebrity sighting vans driving on Sunset are two blocks away.

And there is always a place to go for shopping or food or entertainment that is not expensive (and sometimes quite inexpensive) but still fun and cool. And that too is nearby. Like the In and Out Burger (simply the best burgers and cheap) on Sunset between La Brea and Highland, where I recommend, "animal style", the Neopolitan shake or the burger low carb style with lettuce instead of a bun...or the freshly made fries... Chipotle on Sunset, Zazou Chicken on Sunset, Aroma on Sunset, Bosa Nova on Sunset and many others.

If you don't mind a short drive, then try at $26 a person all you can eat Korean BBQ: Oo-Kook Korean BBQ Restaurant with unlimited prime, Kobe and Waygu beef--15-20 min drive. Or I'm told that Boiling Crab is very good in Koreatown but quite a wait.

Have Sushi, cheap or expensive within walking distance--Rock N Roll Sushi at 8000 Sunset Blvd. is walking distance. One of my favorite sushi places is Hirozen or more traditional sushi and close Sugarwish on La Brea.

Everyone delivers here too. Look at GrubHub online.

Smoking is not allowed inside the unit but is OK on the patio that is part of the unit but only if the door is closed!!

There is a manager on the premises if there are any problems. And tandem parking for one car is included although there is also free street parking.

There is a gated door to enter the building and it has a keypad for entry. I feel very safe in this area and live a few blocks away... ...and have been known to walk around Sunset late at night. Any others questions, feel free to inquire.

Dirty dishes MUST be cleaned before departure. And place should be left tidy. (not clean but not a big mess)

Failure to clean dishes (or an extra dirty/messy apartment) will result in the cleaners charging me extra as the regular cleaning fee for cleaning is based on no dirty dishes to clean and normal use.

The house cleaners wash all the linens, and spend a lot of time doing the regular clean up. I pride myself on having good cleaners. But if they need to spend extra time cleaning up, they charge me and I pass that charge on. I rarely find this a problem however, as the majority of my guests are quite wonderful.

And read my reviews. I treat people like I would want to be treated. On the other hand, I have had the experience where people trashed the place. But that has been very rare. I am fortunate in having very nice guests and I let them know that as often as they let me know I was a good host. It's so important when first visiting a city to have a good interaction with the people there. And I would say, in general, that LA is a very friendly city.

Although we have a coin operated washing and dryer machine in the rear of the building , there is also a laundry service nearby that will do it for you and deliver. Go to directions on itinerary page for the code to the washer and dryer room.

One bath towel per person. If you use more, please wash and dry in washer and dryer in back of building.

This place has satellite/cable TV. and there is a big selection--140 channels . If you have any issues technically,see mgr in #4. You can also disconnect electrical plug, wait a few minutes and then reboot and see if that fixes any problem. You use your own account for Amazon or Netflix viewing.

The WiFi network and password are on the router box as marked. Should be in living room. Fans are operated by remote control in living room.

There is a manager across from you if there are any issues. You have her phone number to call or text. Large SUVs will not fit into the tandem space. When parking first, park all the way down and stay within white lines. Please be courteous respectful of other tenants and the surrounding neighbors. It's a neighborhood. Across the street is Spaulding Square, a very lovely area with Craftsman houses that is a designated historical district.

Absolutely NO PETS unless prior written approval. Any pets discovered unapproved will incur $100. a day charge.

Smoking is allowed on the balcony ONLY provided sliding door is closed. Some people are allergic to smoke. Smoking is also allowed outside or in backyard.

There is a Ralph's Market open 24/7 a few blocks away at 7257 Sunset w/ free parking...a few blocks east of the building. Ask for the Ralph's discount card at checkout, which is free and may save you 5 or 10%.

I recommend downloading the WAZE application to your phone for map and navigation. Or use tried and true G maps (I'm abbreviating). Uber and Lyft arrive within a couple of minutes only...we get very fast pickups. I recommend them from airport as it's cheaper.

For getting around transportation try the applications Uber or Lyft. There is also independent taxi. And bus nearby.You r walking distance to many locations.

El anfitrión siempre estuvo al pendiente de nosotros asegurando como ubicar el apartamento fácilmente a nuestra llegada. También fue de mucha ayuda la conversación telefónica previa con el anfitrión para explicarme donde comprar comida y artículos de primera necesidad, puntos de entretimiento y ubicación sobre el transporte público más cercano. El apartamento esta en una zona de buen nivel, tranquila y segura, pero a la vez a distancia caminando a las principales atracciones de Hollywood. El anfitrión estuvo al pendiente de nosotros para saber si todod funcionaba correctamente.

My goodness, was this a pleasant experience! First and foremost, I hate hate hate wasting food, so having the option to leave some extra tea, spices, etc behind (and find a decent number left before me) was fantastic - thank you for this policy, hope everyone continues to keep it up! Space is amazing, tons of room, netflix on the TV was a nice touch. Kitchen is a normal small apartment kitchen, not one of those half-quasi-kitchens I often see in tiny studios. Denise was thorough, informative, and helpful from the start. I never needed anything during my stay, but had absolutely no worries as I was provided with multiple ways to have issues handled should they arise. The little nook outside is a nice treat. I greatly appreciate the keypad-based lock system (I carry enough keys for work), heating and a/c both worked very efficiently, and the shower always ran hot. The unit was thoroughly cleaned when I arrived. It's actually the first AirBNB I've stayed in where it felt like a hotel room - not for lack of personality (although does anyone NOT love Marilyn? lol..), but because of just how well organized, coordinated, clean, and thought-through everything is in the apartment. The neighborhood is also nice, if traffic-heavy. No worries, the outer gate puts you in a world all your own. You're also right between Sunset and Santa Monica, and can quickly Uber to anywhere you need to go in Hollywood. I didn't need to utilize parking, but it's convenient and easily accessible. Fast wifi, keurig, etc etc etc. Don't hesitate - book it. This place is great (actually, don't book it - I'm hoping to stay for a month upon my return!).

This was the second time we stayed in one of Denise's apartments and, again, I can whole-heartedly recommend her holiday apartments and her as a host! Not only was the apartment really, really nice - clean, nicely furnished and decorated, in a safe area and a real home-away-from home - but Denise was again the perfect host! She really goes out of her way to make sure here guests are happy and get everything they need. This does not only apply to the apartment, but also any general information one might need. She replies super-quick and is very friendly and helpful! We will definitely come back, so much so, that we would even consider changing holiday dates in case her place is fully booked... About the apartment: everything is just as described. It is very comfortable and spacious and the parking spot is great to have! It is close to everything, the area is safe and nice. One of the most important aspects for me is that Denise is absolutely trustworthy! She takes being a host very serious and is aware of how much travelers depend on their accommodation being available and in accordance with the description! --- We can recommend the LA Fitness on Hollywood Blvd if you want to work out on your holidays.. To my fellow vegan travellers: don't miss eating at the Veggie-Grill (our absolute favorite) and Vegan Glory! Kung Pao Restaurant also has some nice vegan options... Noch mal auf Deutsch: Wir waren jetzt zum zweiten Mal in einem von Denises Apartments und wir können sowohl die Unterkunft als auch Denise als Gastgeberin von ganzem Herzen weiter empfehlen! Die Wohnung ist wirklich sehr schön - sauber, schön eingerichtet, in einer sicheren Gegend - und Denise ist die perfekte Gastgeberin. Sie bemüht sich wirklich sehr, ihren Gästen weiter zu helfen: das gilt nicht nur für Fragen bezüglich Wohnung, sondern auch für alle anderen Fragen, die ihre Gäste haben. Sie antwortet sehr schnell auf Anfragen und ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir werden definitiv wieder her kommen und sind sogar bereit, unsere Reisepläne zu ändern, falls ihre Wohnung ausgebucht ist... Die Wohnung ist wie beschrieben, sehr bequem und geräumig und der Parkplatz ist ein großes Plus! Zentral gelegen (allerdings ist für L.A. meiner Meinung nach ein Mietwagen absolut empfehlenswert ). Die Gegend ist schön und vor allem sicher! Was mir besonders wichtig ist, ist, dass Denise als Gastgeberin so vertrauenswürdig ist! Sie nimmt ihre Pflichten als Gastgeberin sehr ernst und es ist ihr bewusst, wie wichtig es für den Urlauber ist, dass die gebuchte Unterkunft tatsächlich auch verfügbar ist und der Beschreibung entspricht! (Da haben wir mit anderen Vermietern schon anderes erlebt) --- Zum Training können wir LA Fitness am Hollywood Blvd empfehlen. Am besten dort nach Leo fragen. Für vegane Reisende: Unbedingt beim Veggie Grill essen!!! Außerdem ist Vegan Glory empfehlenswert und Kung Pao Restaurant hat auch einige leckere vegane Gerichte auf der Karte...

Instructions were very thorough and self explanatory. It was a welcomed surprise to see the chic decor inside when our perception of the neighborhood seemed less appealing. I know that Hollywood is often decorated with a mix of socio-economic classes, but overall it was nicely decorated.
