The cottage is next door to our restored Coaching House where I live and to my hand knitting studio. Knitters very welcome or anyone interested in Scottish textiles. The cottage however is quite separate and private from our main house. Beautiful garden from which you can pick your own herbs and salad leaves in season. Outside table and chairs to enjoy breakfast or dinner al fresco (on one of our sunnier warm days!) The back garden is for the cottage only and is very secluded and private with fruit trees and a sitting area. Laid back feel!

Large, long stone/brick cottage with private orchard to the back, large sunny garden to the front, with outside table and chairs and a swing under the Beech tree. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Perfect for children. We are on hand to help with any queries about places to go, to eat,to walk......and if you arrive late, please let us know and we can organise a meal for you at the cottage...email for more details.....There is no shop in the village, so we do supply basics for your breakfast, orange juice, milk, bread, jam, eggs, oats, coffee and tea...but if you wish to cook it may be a good idea to shop before you arrive. There is a large supermarket in St.Andrews...10 minute drive. The village is 5 miles from Elie and the coast, 7 miles from Cupar, St. Andrews or Leven. The nearest restaurants are the Peat Inn...2 miles or the Inn at Lathones, 1mile. This is an old well loved cottage; perfect to relax in!
Please respect the cottage and neighbours. No smoking permitted. Any damage or breakages must be reported to the host.
Pets by arrangement. Thanks.
I live in a beautiful old coach house next door to the cottage, which was originally the old farm house for the village. I love travel....and have old friends in many places around Europe where I have spent time in the past. Colm, my partner and I have the most wonderful dog, Cuillin, which means in gaelic...'our hound'...and a cat 'Squidge' who is quite a character. I lived on the Isle of Skye for 20 years before settling near St.Andrews in 2000. I love walking, swimming, history, cycling and growing vegetables and flowers...organically and in tune with nature. Colm is a great bird lover and our garden is full of house martins, swallows, finches, robins etc. I love Scotland and really enjoy helping folk find those special places that in all the years I have lived here I can now share. My studio is open to visit....I specialise in handknitting...and am thrilled to be already setting up projects, educational, with some of our guests and new friends. We love cooking, our family...4 grown up children between us and our first grandchild...there is lots in the cottage for children...books and toys which our own children enjoyed. We love music, film, poetry and the arts as well.....
I love to share and to build friendships.....I learnt this when I had nothing and travelled as a young person all over Europe and India...especially the Himalaya....there, people with nothing gave to me all the time...now it is time to give back!
