Quiet, old (built around 1600!)and comfortable cottage; large rooms with a sunny, homely feel. Hall way, bathroom with 2 south facing windows, bath with electric shower..lots of hot water. Big Kitchen, well equipped with pots, pans, herbs and spices etc. Dining room with sofa. Large living room with 2 sofas(one is a sofa bed), open fire, TV etc. Quiet and sunny double bedroom and children's bedroom with double bed and cot leading off the main bedroom. Great garden to front and rear. Great for walkers, families and lovers of the country but also close to Edinburgh for Culture, St.Andrews for the university, Golf and the celebrated Stanza Poetry Festival in March, Pittenweem and it's Arts Festival in August. Books, Maps, toys and games. Everything for the Hand knitter on hand in the studio next door! Sky TV in the lounge. High speed broadband available.

Guests have access to their own parking space outside the cottage, a large sunny shared front garden with several sitting out areas, plus a private garden to the rear of the cottage. Guests have all the cottage to themselves.

The cottage is next door to our restored Coaching House where I live and to my hand knitting studio. Knitters very welcome or anyone interested in Scottish textiles. The cottage however is quite separate and private from our main house. Beautiful garden from which you can pick your own herbs and salad leaves in season. Outside table and chairs to enjoy breakfast or dinner al fresco (on one of our sunnier warm days!) The back garden is for the cottage only and is very secluded and private with fruit trees and a sitting area. Laid back feel!

Quiet village on the cross roads to a huge variety of Cupar, Leven, Dundee, Edinburgh, Elie and the East Neuk. Great walking from the village to Ceres, Elie etc. Fabulous beaches all along the coast, National Trust castles and houses within a short distance. Cambo estate for its fab display of snowdrops in the Spring, St.Andrews for Stanza poetry festival in March and numerous great events during its academic calender, Pittenweem for its Arts Festival in August...all in all a great area to explore. There is also Golf!!! we are really close to all the main links and only 10 minutes into St.Andrews for the Old course etc. A wonderful area for children with Craigtoun Park nearby and all the fab beaches such as Elie for the summer months.

Main bus service at the bottom of the road to St.Andrews, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The village is located on the A915 with direct 10 minute drive to St.Andrews.Parking is included in your listing. From the airport you can arrange a taxi locally...we can help with that! We do live in a village so your own transport is probably a good idea.

Large, long stone/brick cottage with private orchard to the back, large sunny garden to the front, with outside table and chairs and a swing under the Beech tree. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Perfect for children. We are on hand to help with any queries about places to go, to eat,to walk......and if you arrive late, please let us know and we can organise a meal for you at the for more details.....There is no shop in the village, so we do supply basics for your breakfast, orange juice, milk, bread, jam, eggs, oats, coffee and tea...but if you wish to cook it may be a good idea to shop before you arrive. There is a large supermarket in St.Andrews...10 minute drive. The village is 5 miles from Elie and the coast, 7 miles from Cupar, St. Andrews or Leven. The nearest restaurants are the Peat Inn...2 miles or the Inn at Lathones, 1mile. This is an old well loved cottage; perfect to relax in!

A quaint rustic cottage, good wifi and television, nice fireplace with wood and peat. A little cold in the cottage if it's chilly outside, however easily warmed up with an electric blanket. Would suit a family stay in the summer months well.

Lovely, comfortable cottage with loads of character in a quiet location within easy reach of St Andrews. Our children (aged 2 & 4) were delighted with the basket of toys, teddy bears and books, not to mention Di's own dog who was great with them. Di was very helpful in advance of and during our stay and even gave our four year old a crash course in knitting much to her delight. Despite the fact Di and her husband live next door we rarely saw them unless we needed to. Parts of the cottage could do with some upgrading but its charm, comfort and quirks outweigh any downsides. All in all a great place for a family holiday.

This was a perfect place to stay for our trip to St Andrews for the university visiting day. We and our two teenagers were really comfortable. Di made us feel so welcome and left us some essential foods so we didn't have to go shopping on our first night. It is very quiet and safe. The teens were happy with the wifi. Big parking space.

Great little cottage, a perfect getaway. Lovely quiet location that's very close to all local amenities and some of the best towns and beaches we've been to in Scotland. Perfect for families or couples and especially dog friendly too. Our 4 loved coming away with us too. Hosts Di and Colm couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming, thank you

I live in a beautiful old coach house next door to the cottage, which was originally the old farm house for the village. I love travel....and have old friends in many places around Europe where I have spent time in the past. Colm, my partner and I have the most wonderful dog, Cuillin, which means in gaelic...'our hound'...and a cat 'Squidge' who is quite a character. I lived on the Isle of Skye for 20 years before settling near St.Andrews in 2000. I love walking, swimming, history, cycling and growing vegetables and flowers...organically and in tune with nature. Colm is a great bird lover and our garden is full of house martins, swallows, finches, robins etc. I love Scotland and really enjoy helping folk find those special places that in all the years I have lived here I can now share. My studio is open to visit....I specialise in handknitting...and am thrilled to be already setting up projects, educational, with some of our guests and new friends. We love cooking, our family...4 grown up children between us and our first grandchild...there is lots in the cottage for children...books and toys which our own children enjoyed. We love music, film, poetry and the arts as well.....

I love to share and to build friendships.....I learnt this when I had nothing and travelled as a young person all over Europe and India...especially the Himalaya....there, people with nothing gave to me all the it is time to give back!
