Only two miles from the city centre yet surrounded by countryside our home offers guests a truly unique stay to explore Exeter, Dartmoor and our beaches.
Set in grounds of two and a half acres the house has loads of space inside and out to enjoy and can accommodate up to ten people if needed.
There is a choice from five beautiful double guest bedrooms, all are warm, comfortable and full of character and have lovely views, TV,free WiFi and tea/coffee making facilities. The large modern bathroom is for the sole use of our guests only.
Breakfast is provided and taken in the huge farmhouse kitchen looking out onto lovely views.

There is extensive car/caravan parking and quick easy access to the city centre or to the A38, A30 & M5 motorways and airport.
A bus stop for the city centre sits just 200 metres from the property, and a Park and Ride just 400 metres.

An old farmhouse table comfortably seating eight is in the centre of the huge, modern country kitchen which is free for our guests to use for breakfast which will be laid out for you to enjoy at your leisure.
There is plenty of choice and includes various cereals and porridge, yogurt and fresh fruit toast and preserves, muffins, fruit juice, tea, coffee and hot chocolate, for you to prepare at your leisure and enjoy, either at the kitchen table, in the conservatory or in fine weather enjoy the views on the decked terrace!
Our guests are very welcome to explore and make use of the two and a half acres of garden and paddock, to exercise dogs (or children)! We do ask for dogs to be kept downstairs and under control as they are not allowed in the bedrooms.
There is a laundry room and a downstairs toilet and cloakroom guests are free to use as well as the main bathroom upstairs which is for the sole use of guests.
A cosy separate lounge area is also available for guests to use.

We do everything we can to make your stay with us memorable for all the right reasons! We are brilliant tourist information guides and can help with ideas of where to go and what to do. We love welcoming people into our home and although we do work we are always more than happy to engage and share our free time in the evenings with guests though also happy to respect their privacy.

Our home is right on the edge of the vibrant, beautiful cathedral city of Exeter.
In an area with a village community vibe,
with a local pub, beautiful church and mini market we have everything we need to hand and just a short bus ride or 15 minute car journey into the city centre.
Very close at hand, just minutes away we have my two most favourite places. The breathtaking Exe Estuary where there are stunning river walks, cycle tracks and boat trips..... walk or cycle to Topsham!
And the wondrous Haldon Forest which you can see from your bedroom or our kitchen window. Magical place for walking, cycling and horse riding and a fab cafe!!

Buses go into town every 10 minutes from the bus stop at the end of our lane, and a fifteen minutes car journey gets you to the main train station with Exeter airport less than 20 minutes drive away. Taxis are frequent and reasonable to and from the airport.
We have secure gated access to our property where there is extensive on site parking for several cars/caravans.

If you're looking for just a place to sleep and a base from where you can explore the surrounding areas (car is ideal), then this place is a great choice. We chose to take the train to Exeter and walk to get around, and that wasn't ideal but it was still okay (there's a bus to the city). Things to know: - Outdoor lodge is actually a separate listing and hence when it is booked the whole deck and outdoor seating area is no longer free to use - Parts of the house shown in pictures are inaccessible (currently like conservatory) - Don't expect to use the kitchen unless for seating and eating provided breakfasts only (absolutely no cooking and use of other kitchen facilities - fridge is ok but only if space is available) - Price when checking on Airbnb is not the same as the price you actually pay (they calculate the rates differently) But the hosts were really great with recommendations and information on things to do, best places to go, best places to eat etc, how to get there etc. Very knowledgeable and great choices. House and property is gorgeous, very secluded and quiet (perfect for R&R) and everything was perfectly clean, everything was provided to us (shower stuff, towels, kettle, tea, mugs and glasses in the each of the rooms) - was perfectly arranged! Their pets are also adorable (a "Jug" puppy and a cat) Thank you to Peter and his wife, we had a lovely time!

Yasmean...I really don't understand your remarks ...firstly..you were made fully aware before booking that this busy Easter week meant the Nordic lodge was fully booked so not available ....you still had full use and access to over two acres of gardens and grounds with lots of garden seating and tables available in different areas of the grounds..we just asked that you respect the privacy of the Lodge guests in that one area.... There were some storage boxes in the conservatory waiting to be collected ...that doesn't make it inaccessible...there are only two areas in our home that guests are not permitted...our private bedrooms and lounge. You and your group were made very welcome in the huge kitchen area and used it from 6pm to 11.30pm on both nights of you stay for playing games around the ten seater table, eating and drinking and making toasted sarnies !!..Yes...we have a no cooking policy.. clearly stated for all to see on our listing and in our house rules , no surprises...this is our home Yasmean..not a hotel or self catering place...we extend our hospitality to offer a very good choice of breakfast and use of all areas specified at any time ..like a home from home...you can use the microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge ,make drinks , get take aways or make sandwiches..but like a lot of Bed and Breakfast cooking. I think your comments are therefore rather unfair in that respect. We do not structure our prices was explained to you before you booked that the price is PER ROOM plus any extra guests....you booked ONE room with SIX guests, so the pricing was not correct as you actually required three rooms. Again ...we are always clear and honest about what we provide and offer ...I do hope this clears up a few points. Thank you was nice having you and your friends to stay.

We were down on mass (7) for a family jaunt, (my daughters 18th Birthday 'Great Gatsby" party) Peter & Lynne... Great hosts and a lovely place to be, with some and some beautiful views. A country house vibe and only a 10 minute drive to Exeter City central. Driving down from London we stopped in Topsham for lunch at the 'Passage House Inn' pub for lunch. Peter happened to call as to our ETA. Upon learning our location for lunch he told me he was great friends with Landlords (Neil & Carla) and we were totally looked after. I would highly recommend and we'll definitely be back and ensure we take the whole house next time and hang out with Peter, Lynne and family. Sean & Heather Stuart

Peter and Lynne were fantastic hosts, and their home is really lovely, very clean and comfy beds. The location is great too, being in the country but only a short drive from the centre of Exeter. Highly recommended.

The house is beautifully done and was a great place to stay. We came as a group of 10 and Peter and his wife were incredibly accommodating, including tips on good takeaways nearby and laying out breakfast for us. I imagine it'd be an ideal place for couples or a family looking for peace and quiet too. Thanks again Peter

We are Lynne and Peter, married for 33 years and feeling very blessed to live in such a fabulous place!
We brought up our four children in this amazing house and it was always full of laughter, chaos and mayhem!
They all still adore this house and return for visits but mostly their rooms are now empty so we would like to share it with you!
We are lucky to share the same tastes in most things and enjoy cycling in our free time making the most of the numerous cycle routes nearby to the city, the coast and beyond. We both like to ski and also love visiting our two daughters living in Australia... such an amazing place!
A weekly curry is a must for us and we love popping into town or to Topsham for a bite to eat and a glass of wine or three!!
Lynne ran the florist shop in Topsham for many years and I am a carpenter by trade but can turn my hand to most practical things!
We now run our own furniture painting business using all natural chalk paints and waxes. We also hold classes and workshops teaching people how to paint, age, antique and create decorative effects on furniture.
We are very happy in our work and our home and would love you to feel the same!
