My wife and I loved this beautiful cabin which turned out to be intelligently renovated and meticulously finished by Tony himself (with a partner). Its high-ceilinged living room feels airy, spacious and opens out towards the lake through huge picture windows. Three doors let in air, but their roll-out screens keep bugs out. There is a generous sundeck on the side, and a nice little terrace overlooking the lake from the cabin’s perch on a small rocky outcrop a few feet above the water.
We also enjoyed the adjacent, very private beach which invites meditative strolls, sun bathing, and swimming.
The double bed might be too small for some, but there is also a pull-out sofa bed in the living room.
The absence of any road noise and of visible neighbours made the cabin feel wonderfully secluded and embedded in the lake’s lively presence.
Wendy and Tony are excellent hosts who welcomed us warmly but granted us complete privacy.
We needed some supplies but decided to eat out, so we found that only a few minutes’ drive away there are a small supermarket, craft stores, cafes, and a very good Swiss-Italian restaurant called “Boccalino’s”. And after each little drive we were glad to be able to return to the tranquil seclusion of this beautiful cabin in its perfect location.
