Situated on a tree lined street, a short walk to the city, and Salthill seashore with its stunning prominade. The house has been renovated and designed using salvaged materials and antiques from many parts of Ireland, and abroad, giving charachter and an eclectic atmosphere. Guests say it has the old world charm of an Irish country house, and the quaintness of an old Parisian Hotel. Most rooms have a fireplace, and there is something mystical about soaking in an old clawfoot bathtub in front of an open fire, whose windows look out on the ruins of an old convent.
Guests can enjoy the privacy of their own lounge and small library where a full breakfast of their choice is served. However, most guests like to sit with us at our 9ft old pine kitchen table, having tea and homemade scones in front of the wood burning stove.
The facilities include multi-jet power shower's, wireless internet, with the use of a big-screen computer which doubles as a tv (supply of movies). There is a state of the art sound system which runs throughout the whole of downstairs.
Location is another key factor when staying at this beautiful home, as it is just 15 minutes walk to the latin quarter (restaurants and bars) and 20 to city centre and 10 mins to salthill promenade, A 10 minute walk also takes you to
Sea Rd and an area called 'the west' with two award winning restaurants and traditional irish music bar. ( bus stop outside door.) I am also within easy walking distance of our wonderful university, and local golf club.
Galway is rrenowned as a cultural landmark, not just in Ireland but throughout the world. We host many festivals each year in literature, theatre, film, and have ongoing art exhibitions. As well as a wonderful museum, we have famous connections with James Joyce, and W.B.Yeats, and many hollywood movie stars have been spotted having a quiet drink and enjoying our wonderful traditional
music. For the brousers we have a vibrant open air farmers market, displaying the best of local produce and local arts and crafts. This is held outside the medieval St. Nicholas's cathedral.
There are day trips to the Cliffs of Moher, and the Aran Islands, Connemara and the Burren, which are truly worth a visit and will linger in your memory long after your trip.

I live in a recently restored house in Salthill with close proximity to its famous promenade and walking distance to the city centre and Galway Golf club. I love cycling, walking, baking, cooking, antiques and I am passionate about literature, classical music and art. I enjoy like minded people who are interested in getting to know the cultural capital of Ireland. I have a wonderful home which I personally designed, to the highest of standards. It is luxurious and comfortable and i am delighted to open it up to people looking for a home from home.
