Stunning off-the-grid eco lodge! Full kitchen and breeze way. Views of the Soufriere Volcano, surrounded by hiking trails through the mountains. We're a 15 min walk to some of the best snorkeling and diving on the island & a 30 min drive to Roseau.
We're a 100% solar-powered eco lodge, surrounded by gorgeous rainforest hills. The house was created by Swiss artist, Henri Rohrer as a self-sustaining retreat. There's a rainwater-fed water system, a shower built from local sea stones, and a screened in porch with views of the Soufriere Volcano. All of this is powered with solar. Experience what comfortable sustainable living can be like!

Atención a los huéspedes
We're on the property in a separate eco house. We're available as need be and are more than happy to help you to experience the amazing island of Dominica. We have a great guide book available for planning and can give you tips on what we love about Dominica. We love to share what we have learned about off the grid sustainable living and are happy to get into details of solar power, gravity fed water systems, making less trash...if that interests you. Mainly, we are there to help with any questions and make you feel comfortable and welcome!
We're in the country, surrounded by a few other small farms. We're a 15 min walk/ 5 min drive down to the village where there are a few grocery stores and restaurants.
You can hike up into the mountains from the back of the yard, and we're an eighth of a mile from the first leg of the Waitunukabuli Hiking Trail, which traverses the entire island. The village of Soufriere is located on one of the most stunning and unique bays in the Caribbean. It is a marine reserve so the snorkeling and diving are awesome! Rated in the top five snorkeling and diving spots in the world! Champagne Bay, named for the "bubbling springs" in the ocean is right down the road and a great place to snorkel with a guide. They also offer food and drinks and are just soooo friendly. A good way to get acquainted with the underwaters of Dominica. I love our location. It is very private and lends itself well to writers, artists, people who seek a quiet place away from it all. Our land dead ends at the end of the Soufriere Valley so there is only our neighbor's vehicles occasionally passing. At the same time, a fifteen minute walk gets you a taxi to the main city of Roseau and from there you can take public taxis to all parts of the island for a very reasonable rate. There are also great tour guides available and rentals are abundant. However you choose to get around, Soufriere is a great location to start and a wonderful retreat to come back to at night. A 10 minute hike through the "bush" or as they say in Dominica "Zion" gets you to the hot springs that originate in the Soufriere Volcano. A great way to start or end your day.
A taxi from Soufriere is $1.50.
Taxies from Roseau to Soufriere are also $1.50 and can by found by the craft market in town.
No smoking inside, but you're welcome to smoke on the porch or in the yard.
767Ecolodgic is 100% off the grid and is set up around the idea of responsible ecological use. We ask that you turn off lights and fans that you aren't using, especially when leaving for the day. It's also a chance to become conscious of electric and water use. A good thing as our planet needs our help with that!
Enjoy the awesome inspiring magic of nature!

I love to travel and experience different cultures and the beauty of nature everywhere I go. Love music, dancing, enjoying my time on the planet. Worked in local Caribbean radio for most of my life and at one point briefly owned and operated a great pizza place in New Orleans LA called Pie in the Sky. Crazy for music! My husband is per his description an artist/craftsman. I think he is a mad architect inventor builder but who is to say? Henri's work for me is incredibly unique, so very aesthetic and just makes you feel good when you are in the house. The delight is in the details...whether it be that certain curve of the wall heading to the shower area or that cool Roseau finished closet, his touch is unmistakable. His work has been featured in a Caribbean magazine as well as a homes magazine in Arkansas. Welcome to Henri's house! Let your senses be your guide!
