Three gorgeous rooms available in Larry & Gabriella's beautiful Joshua Tree home.
The Shakti room's center piece is a cast iron bed that was made in the early 1900’s. We adorned the room with art pieces that came from the Far East and added a large tapestry that is depicting Shakti and Krishna as they are joyously swinging together. The warm textured orange color of the walls make this room even more romantic.
This room’s bath is right across the hall and shared with the Desert Vista room.
Larry and Gabriella's pristine home sits on a 1.5 acre property that is located just minutes from the Joshua Tree National Park West Entrance and it is also close to downtown Joshua Tree, shopping, art galleries, yoga studio and restaurants.
The house is a modern structure and it is facing to the east. That means that you can enjoy the sunrise from the living room and the dining area, as well as from the Shakti and the Western room. The spacious back patio offers amazing sunsets which you can also view from the kitchen and the Rustic Chic room.
The house is surrounded by undeveloped land so you have spacious quietness and expansive views to relax into.
After you’ve arrived and parked your car next to the paved driveway that accommodates up to 6 cars, at the entrance of the house you will be greeted by a unique Guadalupe tile mural that Larry and Gabriella assembled when they moved into their Joshua Tree home in 2015. Larry also created the bench on the front porch out of upcycled wood that we used to form the back patio. A perfect place to watch the sunrise and cool off in the afternoon breeze.
As you enter the house you find yourself surrounded by a positive vibe that makes our guests instantly fall in love with our home. We have a super fun BIG spacious couch that you can relax on or enjoy watching the crackling logs in the fireplace.
We offer guidebooks to the national park to help you plan your excursion and many recommendations for the best outings.
The kitchen is fully equipped for your convenience. You will find pots and pans as well as plates, utensils and glasses included. We have coffee and tea for you and every kind of sweetener that you can possibly need. Organic olive oil and balsamic vinegar also spices for your use. You will have plenty of room in the fridge to store your perishables and can get filtered cold water and your ice for those hot days at the park.
The other side of the kitchen is the dining area that can sit 6 guests.
The bedrooms are located at the other end of the house from the living room along the hallway. The first room on your right is the Desert Vista Room that features a queen bed with an organic bamboo mattress. The second door is the Shakti Room that also features a queen bed with an organic bamboo mattress. Both rooms are equipped with the most comfy bedding. These two rooms share a bathroom which is located right across the hall. You will find shower gel and shampoo as well as conditioner and hand soap for your use. You will also be given two oversized soft bath towels a hand towel and wash cloths.
The door on your left enters to the Rustic Chic master bedroom that has its own private bath. This room is the most spacious has a comfy seating area, a queen bed with an organic bamboo mattress. The sheets and the pillows are as soft as possible. The bathroom is decorated with Gabriella’s fish collection also featuring a bathtub with a rain shower. We will provide you with bath towels, a hand towel and washcloths as well as with body wash, shampoo and conditioner.
On the west side of the house you will find the patio that you can access through the kitchen sliding door. It has a table for you to eat out with 4 chairs and if you need more add 4 more from the kitchen. We have a super comfy armchair and a spacious sofa for you to Chilax.

I came to the United States from Hungary in 1999 “just” to visit a friend for a few months that lived in New Jersey at that time. I was planning to work for a few months, saving enough money to travel to Mexico to fulfill my lifetime longing to see the pyramids and to experience Mayan spirituality there. After that I was planning to go back to Hungary. But soon I fell in love with the freedom and the infinite opportunities that this country offered to its citizens and decided to make it to my new home.
After my son completed his middle school years in New Jersey, the two of us drove across the country and settled down in Santa Monica. I was even more in love with the West Coast and during our trip I loved to experience the Wild Wild West that I had only seen in western movies before.
The SoCal vibe especially resonated with me and increased my curiosity of learning about how to live life more fully on every level and these lead me to start my yoga teacher studies. On this path of becoming a yoga instructor I met with Larry at a meditation retreat and the rest is history.
Yes, it was love at first site and we were married seven months later! What a blessing to find a partner that you can adventure with together! After we established our life in Malibu we decided to create a retreat center in Costa Rica but by divine intervention we ended up going from the jungle of Central America in the heart of the high desert in Joshua Tree.
There are many more stories in between those two destinations that we would be happy to share with you while you’re staying at our soulfully decorated home with objects from our travels from Hungary to Joshua Tree and South America and in between.
Larry Amal Norman:
I was born in Norfolk, Virginia Naval Hospital and my parents soon after moved to Southern California. I grew up on the beaches of the South Bay spending most of my time in the water surfing, skim boarding and bodysurfing.
I think I was born with wanderlust as at 5 years old I had to be escorted to kindergarten due to my constant intentional losing my way to school and going exploring. Traveling has been a passion of mine ever since and I have been fortunate to have been able to experience many countries and cultures as our home reflects.
At age 18 while living on Maui I read Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda and this started me on a quest exploring different forms of spirituality and religions. It is said that "When the student is ready the teacher will come", and She did in the physical form of Mata Amritanandamayai. Her simple message being "Love and Service" answered all my questions. While in Her service I met my lovely wife Gabriella and life's adventures started anew.
Together we manifested our escape plan: bought 5 acres of rainforest in Costa Rica, built a tiny house and planned to move there although after 3 years the universe had a different plan for us and we landed in magical Joshua Tree as your airbnb hosts!
