Times seems to have stood still in this beautifully restored Castle from the 15th century. A perfect place to come with your family and friends to relax in this peaceful and authentic french countryside, surrounded by forests, prairies and lakes.

The house has 7 bedrooms accomodating up to 15 persons. There are many various dining areas, by the pool, under the linden trees in the garden, in the sun in the garden and in the dining room.
The house has various areas where people can relax quietly, such as the Library, TV/DVD room, and living room.
This large 75 acre of land has gardens, prairies, forest and two small lakes. From the property there are hiking and biking trails. On the surrounding prairies there are 9 friesian horses and a few sheep.

The guest have access to the pool and pool house, which has a dining area and BBQ. Ping pong table and Petanque court. Bicycles on site and board games.

We live in a small cottage on the premises off to the side but we are only there to help our guests with any of there demands. We open and close the pool and keep it clean and maintain the grounds.

The Limousin is know for it clean pure nature, there are no industries here so the water and air is very clean. Limoges is know for its Porcelein china and enamel, and being 2000 years old also very rich in history. There are lots of antique shops and markets and lots of food markets. There are beautiful historical villages that are wonderful to visit. Lots of antique markets in the week-ends.

Limoges airport is 50km away and the closest train station is 10km away at La Souterraine. At La Souterraine there are at least 5 large supermarkets, but there are also fresh markets on various days of the week about 10 km away.
The motorway is 10 km away.
There are restaurants in both La Souterraine and Bessines sur Gartempe, which is also 10km away.
The small town of Fromental has a tiny grocery store and a post office.

I am a born and raised New Yorker that has been living the last 30 years in europe! First 13 years in Holland and up until now in France! I have worked in the hospitality business for more than 30 years. I have worked in the restaurant industry and had a gourmet/catering company in holland. My brothers have 5 restaurants in new york city so the love of food runs in the family!
Living in france has given me the opportunity to come closer with nature, by living and eating seasonally. Working the vegetable garden, cutting wood for the winter, picking mushrooms and chestnuts, raising our sheep, and taking care of our highland cattle and Friesian Horses have given us enormous pleasure at the same time bringing an appreciation to the simple yet beautiful things of life!
Besides the cooking, I love making soaps, candles and re-upholstering old chairs I found at Brocante markets. I love my two border collies and my cats and my chickens that give me such delicious eggs everyday!
