The Vardo and the Guest House were inspired by many years of traveling and living in different parts of the world with a backpack or in a camper van. The Guest House was inspired by the bamboo bungalows of Bali and Thailand, the Vardo by the gypsy caravans of Europe. As a designer/builder I love the challenge of taking a small space and optimizing its potential. Medina and I met in Argentina, fell in love in France and she has traded in her job as a human rights lawyer in London to move to Portland and now works for a non profit to help the homeless. We travel as often as possible but not as much as we would like.
