An historic B&B set in a quiet village in South Somerset, but in walking distance of both pubs and cafe. Close to Dorset, Devon and many places of interest, the house is a lovely place to relax, with large gardens and a guest sitting room and fire.

Two beautiful and spacious en suite rooms set in rural south west England. Though we're conveniently close to the M5 and A202 routes through to Devon and Cornwall, The Beeches is in 6 acres of ground in a small peaceful village. The house is a Grade II Listed eighteenth century farmhouse with plenty of space to relax and wander around.

The breakfast room, conservatory and drawing room are all available to guests, with gardens and orchards for relaxing, reading, or walking. Our breakfasts consist of delicious home-made bread, yoghurt, compotes and cereals, as well as locally sourced free range produce for a full English. Our eggs come from our own very free-range chickens.

The guest rooms are in our family home, and we enjoy chatting to guests at tea or drinks, but there is plenty of space for visitors to withdraw to a quiet space if they prefer.

South Somerset is a beautiful part of England, with outstanding walking/cycling country in every direction. There are several National Trust houses and gardens very close by, as well as beautiful historic villages and small towns. Both Lyme Regis and Bridport on the Dorset coast are within a 40 minute drive for those wanting a sea outing, or guests can stick to the local area for more peace and quiet. And the option of eating without long queues.

We're very close to the A303 (7 mins) and M5 (20 mins), both major routes to Devon and Cornwall. A bus runs twice a day from the nearby town to London Hammersmith. The nearest train station is Crewkerne, on the London to Exeter line, with taxis available to book. Or those who would rather drive once here can arrange for a hire car to meet them at the train station in Yeovil (20 min drive from here).

Check in is from 4, check-out at 11, though we are happy to be flexible if it's arranged beforehand. Guests can use the guest rooms (drawing room, breakfast room, conservatory) as well as the gardens. There is no smoking in the house.

I live with my mother and a collection of chickens in an old big house in Somerset, in 6 acres of land but in the middle of a very friendly village. The house is simple, but spacious - the important things here are eating, sleeping well in comfy beds and having a good shower. I like people to enjoy being here.
