Tony was the best: super friendly, flexible and helpful, giving us names of people who could help us do what we were interested in. He oriented us to the area, stopping by and checking in on us frequently, and responding to our queries and problems- fixing a bike- finding a good surf area etc.
The house was clean and super comfortable. Wifi worked, everything worked. He provided us with two bikes that were perfect for quick trips into town. You can take the less traveled route on foot/bike path- to shopping center with grocery store and bakery. To find the bike path, heading into town from Tony’s house, you enter it on your left, just as the road takes a sharp right hand turn.
Toilets could use an upgrade. But everything else worked just fine.
Getting there: We arrived in the dark and it was hard to find.
Get onto the D118 going east from St. Francois, where you will see the aerodrome/golf course on your right. After the aerodrome/golf course, the road takes a ninety degree sharp left turn at the ocean. At that point, you are about 100 yards from his driveway. You will pass Au Colombo restaurant. It's the driveway immediately after the little outdoor "Chez Jean-Edward" restaurant. Tony’s house is the very last house on that driveway -- you'll see a sliding driveway door on the left that says "Villa Tony.” If you pass the Aguane cafe, you will have gone too far.
