Built in 1897 this 'homestead' claims a unique part in the heritage of the Burningtown community and our family. If peace and quiet are what you need.....this is the place! If you want to make great memories to share with the folks back home....this is the place! It's up to YOU!

A private driveway leads to the cabin with ample parking. DirectTV service is available. You will have full access to the cabin and surrounding area.

We will be available daily for questions or directions. It is our aim to see you have the most pleasant experience possible in our parent's home place.

A world-class trout stream is only a stone's throw from the cabin's front door. A mere 45 minutes drive will take you hiking on the Appalachian Trail or blazing your own trails in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. White water rafting on the Nantahala River can be reached in half an hour on the back roads that only the locals use! How about taking home a ruby that you found at one of our local ruby mines? Franklin is the gem capital of the south! The rocking chairs on the front porch will be there to greet you when you return.

12 miles to downtown Franklin, NC. 13 miles to Bryson City, NC. 30 miles to Cherokee, NC. One hour to Asheville, NC. Two hours to Atlanta, GA. There is no public transportation available.

Do not follow GPS directions on the last two miles of your journey. We will give you more specific directions after plans are solidified. Cell service is quite spotty. Do not rely on your hand-held devices.
