Such an tranquil setting and enjoyable place to be. We definitely recommend this place if you enjoy the sounds of the country - crickets, cattle and coyotes. John was also there and was quite a breath of fresh air! Many thanks again!

Beautiful, remote location. Perfect for those who truly enjoy being off the grid and living simply. Beautiful sunsets and the pool is HEAVENLY.

I consider myself pretty outdoorsy, and this place definitely fits the bill. Be prepared to share your space with lots of insect friends. I think this place would be an amazing retreat in spring or fall, but between the heat and the bugs, my family had a rough time. We did have a…

We were unaware of the screen/bug problem, would've fixed it if you'd told us, & will fix it now. One thing I have noticed w families: kids are always running in & out of the cabins, often holding the door open for long periods, that's what kids do unless warned no to, the door gets opened constantly, the bugs go in, being attracted to the light, once the bugs are in there's not much can be done other than trying to kill them. (Unaware adults achieve the same results.). To blame this on defective screens is not always appropriate. Not much to do about the heat, this is Nevada, typically it's upper 80's-- lower 90's for awhile late summer..(It does cool down quickly after dark, usually to the 50's...)The pool is cool, and it makes ALL the difference, you should definitely have jumped in (the sheep are in no way intimidating, keep to themselves)....a few dips in the pool during the day & before going to bed make for a radical shift in perspective....

This was a wonderful little rustic cabin getaway! If you’re bothered by bugs, dogs or birds, it’s probably not ideal, but if you’re looking for a comfortable bed, kitchen and running water while you explore Hayes Canyon or the Warner Mountains, this is the perfect place! A couple…

The view of the mountains and fields of sheep and cattle from the back deck are gorgeous. The different birds and their sounds add to the peacefulness. Being on a working ranch is interesting with the ranch dogs keeping the howling coyotes away at night. The stars. In a half hou…

The valley where John’s place is located is a special place. It is like being transported back in time - to a more peaceful, remote and simple place. The cabin is basic, but was warm and comfortable, and fit in with the surroundings perfectly. John was a wonderful host, who knows…
