Enjoy privacy of Mahalo's beautiful, no shoes sound healing temple for retreat, meditation & yoga, w/2 futons & a single bed. Share gardens & outdoor fire circles. Love the off-the-grid energy and composting toilet.
It's glorified camping: BYO bedding/sleeping bag, pillow; no running water, no breakfast foods, *no eating in the temple*. Chelsea Royal Diner (great!) & other eateries are nearby!
For bathing, enjoy the Colonial Spa! $20 for an awesome pool, salt water hot tub, saunas & showers!
Mahalo Art Center's Deluxe Retreat space in the Mahalo Rose Encantadora sound healing temple is located by the woods and an intermittent stream.
Servicios y zonas comunes
Mahalo Art Center's 22 foot wide octagonal sound healing temple with a cathedral ceiling is yours for the duration of your stay! This option can sleep 1-4 people. It is really ideal for a personal retreat, but many have stayed in there and had a great time. Please note, no food is allowed in the temple.
Atención a los huéspedes
This choice has two options:
1) An exceptional space for your own private retreat alone or with friends.
2) A retreat led by Mahalo Art Center founder, Luz Elena Morey, a transpersonal, nature-connected drama and expressive arts therapist. These guided retreats can focus on one or several of the following: gaining clarity about one's life, accessing and strengthening one's gifts, releasing/transforming PTSD-related symptoms and obstacles, getting in touch with one's vision or dreams, and making one's most beautiful dreams into reality.
Please contact host for more information about this option.
The Mahalo Art Center property is off of a main road and surrounded by country roads and farms (within .5 miles), and is 1/2 mile from Memorial Park and trails that lead to the town forest. A hike up to Mount Wantastiquet is highly recommended!
We are about 2 miles from downtown Brattleboro, a vibrant arts hub that has been listed as one of the Top 10 Small Towns in America (Fodors).
The local arts scene includes Gallery Walks on each 1st Friday, the Vermont Jazz Center, New England Youth Theatre and New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA).
We also love our yoga & alternative healing community. Superfresh Café offers organic, gluten free, raw and vegan cuisine with river views. The many yoga studios provide daily classes. And Brattleboro Holistic Health has some of the best massage therapists in town.
We are two blocks from a bus stop. New Yorkers may arrive by Amtrak's Vermonter, which stops right in Brattleboro. We would be happy to pick you up at the train station, if we are available, but a car is recommended to fully explore the area.

I am an artist, teacher and transpersonal psychotherapist. Passionate about creativity and the exploration of what it is to be a whole human being, I offer gratitude as much as possible. I work with people of all ages, helping build awareness, confidence, creativity and healthy community via engagement in the expressive arts and nature-connected living. I love conversation, yet will leave you to your sacred retreat here, unless there is reason to converse. Some people come to Mahalo Art Center for personal healing and guided retreats with me. Others come for bed and breakfast rest, pleasure and the wonder of exploring this great area!
