This is a new room in hostel Lao. A large comfortable space built at the end of the stunnning hostel garden. This room offers a private, peaceful environment within a fun social home, not a party hostel!
At the end of the beautiful flower and tree filled hostel garden is our new room, Torrontes. Named after Argentina’s little known emblematic white wine variety traditionally from Salta. The room is a simplistic, large open space, with everything a traveller needs and a large ensuite bathroom. Every room in our home is distinct. And this is no different. With large patio doors and windows that can be opened out to the stunning tropical garden this is a fresh, airy and luminous room. The space was originally home to a pagoda and drying lines for laundry! We have converted it into a peaceful escape within our fun social home. The old wood from the pagoda line the cool stylized concrete floors and entrance and as many other materials from the old space as possible have been recycled to create a both modern and rustic feeling room. The bed is made up of two single beds so the room can either be a double (with larger than average bed) or a twin or there is space to add an extra bed and create a spacious triple. Just let us know what you prefer and we will sort it out. And don’t worry, as a double the beds are well joined together to avoid any late night adventures!
The house has a wide variety of rooms which ensures a good mix of people and budgets. We gaurantee all rooms are as clean and comfortable as the price tag allows. A simple breakfast of real Coffee, Tea, Fresh Bread, Jam, a piece of fruit and a hard boiled egg per person is included.
Our reception only operates from 7AM-1PM. If you need to check in at any other time please let us know and someone will meet you at the property but only between 7AM-Midnight. The hostel is run like a social private home for travellers, and this is reflected in our new prices!

I am originally from Derbyshire in the uk. After studying philosophy I hit the road and ended up making Mendoza my home. Until recently I ran an award winning hostel. My passions include cooking, trekking, my garden, reading, eating and drinking, brewing, music, and off course my dogs. I believe in a simple existence; if you are eating well, drinking well, have somewhere warm and safe to sleep and share all this with good friends, then life is good.
