Private large studio in a historic 1942 stone craftsman home secluded on 3.2 lush acres just at the edge of the Saguaro National Park! Kitchenette, private indoor/outdoor living spaces, broadband WiFi, unique gallery/hallway to private bathroom. Clean, peaceful, quiet and serene. 8 miles to downtown, 9 to the Desert Museum. Check out my other similar listing on the property! No cleaning fees, disinfected and stocked with antibacterial supplies, a great retreat from the crowds!

El espacio
This is a historic stone home (quarried from right here in the Tucson Mountains) from the 1940's in a peaceful location away from the mid town traffic and on 3.2 acres just at the edge of the Saguaro National Park. I live in the main part of this large house, but there is a locking door and alcove between the two private living areas. This is the quintessential Arizona experience with its lush cacti, mountain views from nearly every window, majestic saguaro's and picturesque sunsets. Enjoy the starry desert nights in the private, enclosed courtyard. The studio is quiet and secluded enough for a writers retreat, but the university, fine dining and downtown nightlife are just a short drive away. Lush desert forest only found in this region of the world surrounds you, welcoming families of quail, colorful hummingbirds, hawks, deer and many other desert wildlife. After all, the Desert Museum is just up the road, so they built it out here for a reason! More pictures on Instagram at #serenityinthesaguaroforest, please use this for your own memories as well!
The house is a renovated stone cottage, so it has all the modern amenities (including a whisper quiet, new mini-split AC and heater), but the incredible stonework, poured concrete floors and original keyhole doors remind you of its history. Leave the windows and doors open on mild days because it is designed for outdoor living as much as indoors. Breathtaking sunsets with stunning crystal clear sky's at night. The view of the summer monsoon is spectacular. If you want to visit the many fine restaurants or nightlife, a beautiful windy road drops you right into downtown, modern streetcar or the university area in about 15 minutes by car. I have created a guidebook (located at the bottom of this listing) for personal highlights of the local offerings. Bicyclists pass by the hilly street all the time training for the El Tour De Tucson. Tons of hiking and mountain biking trails all around. The kitchenette features a sink, mini fridge with filtered water, microwave, toaster, Keurig coffee machine with K cups, induction cooktop and full sized HE washer (with detergent). There is also a large 5 burner gas grill with a side burner just outside the bedroom door for more cooking options. The rates are seasonal, but very reasonable in comparison to other listings in the area.

Servicios y zonas comunes
PLEASE PULL IN AND PARK TO THE LEFT NEAR THE MAIN FRONT GATE OF THE HOUSE (to the left as you pull into the driveway). Please do not park near the corrugated fence (to the right of the driveway) as this is reserved for other guests. Please try to use the main gate at night as not to disturb the other unit.
Guests will have keys the studio door as well as the separate gate in the courtyard. Please enter and exit through the main gate at the front of the house at night. If you must use the courtyard gate at night, please take care not to disturb the guests in the other unit nearby. Please take care to keep outdoor noise levels down after 9:00pm. Please let me know if you need the roll a way bed before your arrival so that I can set it up for you. There is a kitchenette with a sink, fridge with filtered water, induction cooktop, Keurig machine (with cups), toaster, microwave as well as a HE washer. Please wash dirty dishes by cleaning off as much solid food into the waste basket as possible since there is no disposal in the sink. The well appointed bathroom includes a hair dryer, plenty of clean towels, full bars of soap, shampoo and various other sundries just in case you may have forgotten something. There is a 5 burner gas grill with side burner to use just outside the bedroom door for more cooking options. Also note that this space is not cleaned daily during your visit like a resort. At first arrival, please come through the main gate at the front of the house. If I am not there to greet you, simple instructions will be sent on how to enter. Please don't block the garage door when parking. The 42" Plasma TV does not have cable, but there are plenty of over the air HD channels and some DVD's (including Monty Python's Holy Grail!) to choose from.

Otros aspectos destacables
Please take care to keep outdoor noise levels down after 9:30pm as to not disturb the other guests. There are 2 garbage bins near the front unit, one for recycling. Please take out garbage to these bins before leaving. Please take care when cooking in the kitchenette as to not damage the counter top. The bathroom is at the other end of the hallway and not in the bedroom. Since there is no cleaning fee, please take care to keep the area clean. We are out near the mountains, so be mindful of the desert critters. The saguaros are a protected plant under Arizona state law, so please do not in any way handle them. The rates for the suite are seasonal, but very reasonable in comparison to other listings in the area.

The nearest neighbor is over an acre away, so besides the birds and other wildlife, its pretty quite. It is a great place to unplug and enjoy the desert surroundings and crystal clear night skies. This means, however, that desert critters are around. Most are friendly, but be mindful of your step when walking around the property, especially at night. There are many places to bike nearby. I do not provide bicycles for liability reasons, but they can easily be rented by places such as Tucson Bike Tours and Rentals (this company will deliver bikes as well). Make sure your radio is tuned to our local community radio station, KXCI 91.3 FM. No commercials, expert DJ's with a spotlight on local talent and upcoming concerts. The absolute best station in Arizona!

I am a video editor/co-producer at a local news station downtown. This job keeps me well connected with the community and all of the amazing new things happening in Tucson. I am also an avid cyclist and love the winding, hilly roads in this area. I graduated from U of A in 1995 and bought this home in 2014.
