Our house is a 2 story house, with 2 bedrooms and a family lounge upstairs, and a kitchen and dining room and bathroom downstairs. The house is newly renovated and is in the oldest part of town, close to the harbor and the main street.

The house is very comfortable, newly renovated with all the amenities you need such as a washing machine, a dryer, dishwasher and good internet connection. It is situated in the oldest part of Ísafjörður very close to the center.
We have taken pride in making the house cozy and hope that you will enjoy your stay!

The basement is a storage room and is not accessible for guests,

Feel free to contact us for some information you need regarding your stay !

In the neighborhood there are many old and beautiful houses, little shops and cafes to enjoy a coffee and cakes. "Gamla bakaríið" is an old bakery with a variety of cakes and bread. A must try is a "kringla" which is a round bread with a hole in the middle (somewhat like a doughnut) with caraway seed. Close by is a new cafe "Þjóðlegt með kaffinu" which can be translated as "Traditional cakes with coffee". There are many shops nearby, a bookstore, a hair saloon, a clothes store and the supermarket "Samkaup" is in a 5 minutes walking distance.
Edinborgarhús is a cultural place with exhibitions and concerts and a restaurant.
The harbor is very close where you can see boats coming in with the catch of the day. There are also organized boat trips to Hornstrandir, which is a National park with a lot of possibilities of remote hiking.
In a walking distance you can visit Neðstikaupstaður where the Westfjörds heritage museum is situated. There is also the restaurant Tjöruhúsið, which offers the best fish buffet in Iceland. Be sure to book your table in advance !
If you want more action you can climb mountains, go sailing, kayaking or take a swim in the sea! (Yes, people actually do that)
If you need more information please visit the tourist information office in Edinborgarhús or check their website:
Swimming pools are the heart of the Icelandic culture, in every town you can find one! Usually they have hot tubs where people relax in the natural hot water that is found almost everywhere in the country. Often people start the day in the pool and have a philosophical discussion in the hot tub after their swim!
In Ísafjörður there is an indoor pool very close to our house, at Austurvegur 9 with one hot tub inside.
In Suðureyri there is an outside pool with 3 hot tubs and in Bolungarvík there is an indoor pool with three outdoor hot tubs but both towns are a part of Ísafjörður municipality.
Everyone can find something to do in Ísafjörður !

The house is very close to the center of Ísafjörður so there is no problem getting around town.

Please note that the stairs are a bit steep and you should be careful with them and watch out when children and older people are going up or down.

Asdis' little house is one of our favorite Air bnbs ever. The house is charming, clean, and right in the heart of Isafjordur. We had plenty of space for our family of four, and loved all the thoughtful touches Asdis provided, from slippers near the front door to extra blankets for snuggling on the couch. It was a wonderful home base from which we could explore the Westfjords. The front door key is a little tricky, but once we got the hang of it we had no problem.
