"Me and my husband found this place with Tripadvisor, so thank you. The apartment is really nice, new, well designed, with a nice lanai on the pool. The place is very quiet so you'll have wonderful night of sleeping (but jet lag...). In the apartments you'll find everything you need to make you're vacation a great one. They give you beach suppliers, Tupperware and more else. It's really in the centre of Kona, so you don't have to drive to have breakfast or dinner, everything is really really close, just five minute walk or even less! If I've ever come back to BI I'll check for the availability of this place first!"


Our beautiful studio condo is at most suitable for 2 adults or a family of 4 with younger children but not suitable for 4 adults. As it is a studio condo, there is no separate bedroom.

Our beautiful studio condo is most suitable for 2 adults or a family of 4 with younger children but not suitable for 4 adults. You have a comfy queen-size bed and an adjacent daybed with trundle that can easily be made into 1 or 2 separate comfy beds with 75 inch or 1.9 meter-long regular mattresses (see photos). There is a combined living, dining, bed area plus complimentary use of our fully-equipped galley kitchenette with family-size fridge. There is also a bathroom with pedestal sink, toilet, and shower. You have your own private lanai (balcony) where you can also dine or enjoy your favorite tropical drink.

Welcome to our Hawaii home! Our entire condo is all yours to make it your own Hawaii home with access just steps away to Ali'i Drive's shops, restaurants, the Hulihe'e Palace, the Kona Pier and beaches. Your condo door access card obtained from the reception counter upon arrival also lets you enjoy the complimentary use of pool, hot tub, BBQ grills and utilize the coin-op laundry room. Please enjoy our condo and resort facilities as much as we do when we are there.

Our local condo managing housekeeper, Ellen, is freely available there. If housekeeping has overlooked something or maintenance is required, upon your request, she will freely attend to any concerns you may have during your stay at the condo. When not living in our condo in Kona, we live in British Columbia, Canada so we will not be there to meet you. Our private owners reception counter staff are there 8 am to midnight every day including all holidays to personally welcome you and check you in. We also have self check-in after hours. As always, Sharon, Sandra and I welcome your questions, suggestions and any concerns by email or phone. Please make yourself at home!

Our condo resort is seaside in the heart of kona - right in the historic village of Kailua-Kona. The Farmer`s Market is one short block away for fresh Hawaiian floral leis and arrangements, fruit, vegetables and souvenirs. You can buy fresh sourdough and other bread just across the street at the Daylight Mind Cafe. ABC convenience stores nearby. There are hundreds of stores and kiosks to do your shopping as well as plenty of restaurants of all themes adjacent to our resort to tempt every palate and budget. The Hulahe'e Royal Palace and the Kona Pier are a 10 minute walk along the beach road through the village. Most other tourists have to walk at least one mile or drive up to five miles or more and then try to find parking to get where we are and where everybody else wants to be. You, on the other hand, would just step outside our property's garden pathway gate beach-side and you are right in the center of it all. Our condo is generally quiet as we don`t get the constant traffic noise from Ali'i Drive.

We recommend our complimentary information on ground transportation contacts and costs to/from KOA Kona International Airport and getting around Kona Town and the rest of the Big Island of Hawaii. Just ask and we will email it to you.

To/from airport - shuttle, taxi, rental car, all available at the airport
In town - walk everywhere in town, take the trolley, a taxicab, use your rental car for getting around the island, for a day-trip to the volcano and then on to Hilo then back home again for an evening of dining.
Island excursions including volcano - Tour by rental car, tour bus, boat, plane, helicopter or take the popular country bus for a day-trip to Hilo.

Our condo layout, furniture and fixtures are rated by manufacturers for a maximum weight of 250 lb. per person and a person's maximum height of 6'2" (188 cm). We have comfy real beds and mattresses 75" in length. Our condo is at best suited for 2 adults or a family of 4 with younger children As it is a studio condo, there is no separate bedroom.
- Our condo is not child-proof. Please do your own risk assessment upon arrival. We do not supply cribs due to space constraints.
- Due to allergies, guests who require a service or comfort animal, must choose another condo whose owner specifically allows service animals in their condo. Thanks for understanding and complying.

Condo Association Rules
Condo Association Rules are posted completely in our Welcome binder in our condo. Pool rules are also posted poolside. Please be aware that guests can be held accountable for their actions.
- No parties or events.
- No sub-letting.
- No smoking. Our whole resort property including condos are completely non smoking. $300 fine levied by resort security for non compliance plus cleaning charges levied by owner if it is determined that someone has smoked in the condo.
- Quiet times are 10 pm to 8 am. Please respect your neighbors. Please let us know if you are disrespected by neighbors or staff.
- Air conditioner unit and Lanai rail must be kept free of towels and clothes. Instead, please use our drying rack on the lanai.
- No Pets of any kind on the resort grounds nor in the condos - this includes no service animals, no comfort animals in our condo due to allergies - no exceptions. If you must have a service or comfort animal, you were to choose another condo as our website mentions.

House Rules
- No parties or events.
- No sub-letting.
- No smoking.
Condition of renting, there is to be a maximum of 2 to 3 adults or a family of 4 with younger children to be in our condo #216, all of whom must be individually registered with us specifically to condo #216. There is to be no sub-letting. There are to be no unregistered renters or day guests occupying our condo. Please note that our terms of renting are that the use of the common facilities are complimentary to our registered guests including the pool and hot tub at the Kona Islander Inn Condominiums. There is to be not more than 2 visitor day guests of the registered renter guests visiting them. The registered renter guests are responsible for their conduct and that of those persons, visitor day guests, accompanying them and must take reasonable care of condo #216 and door codes issued to ensure the condo's integrity.
Our condo is not child-proof. Please do your own risk assessment upon arrival.

This place was so great. The Inn which its' located in has a beautiful courtyard/pool area and lovely foliage, which the balcony faces. I didn't want to leave! It is so central and easy to walk around Kona from this place. It was clean, comfortable and so enjoyable. A great little spot; I'd stay here again.

This is a great location, right in the heart of Kona. Sharon, Ernie, and Sandra give a lot of info about everything you need to know about staying in the condo. It was just right for us. We liked the pool and the landscaping. We liked being able to walk around town. The condo is pretty small, but it was fine for my husband and myself. The bed is comfortable, and we slept well. There's a big ceiling fan. You can open the door to the lanai and the front screen door and get a good cross breeze. You could also opt for air conditioning, of course. There are lots of bath and beach towels and plenty of pillows. There's snorkel gear and boogie boards along with beach chairs. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator and microwave and an electric skillet. The bathroom is very small and adjacent to the kitchen, but the shower is a nice size with a nice shower head. We really enjoyed sitting on the lanai at the table with 2 chairs and having breakfast and coffee. The view of the pool is nice, and there's enough foliage that it feels a little private. We could easily walk everywhere around Ali'i Drive. We enjoyed walking to Lava Java, where you can dine with a great view of the ocean. We also walked to the market and the library, lots of shops and galleries, and there's even a frozen yogurt shop close by that's really great.

Great place in peaceful environment, with walking-distance to all we need! The hosts were on the spot concerning communication, and the unit was more than well equipped. We had a great stay, and would happily have stayed there again. Absolutely recommendable!

After having purchased our Acapulco beach condo in 2006, we purchased our cozy romantic Hawaii condo in 2010. Sharon and I stayed at the Kona Islander Inn Condominiums over 20 years ago when we were researching Hawaiian locations, myths, legends and rich cultural history for our first novel. Needless to say we fell in love with the Olde Hawaii plantation architectural theme, the lush tropical grounds of almost 50 species of plants and. of course, our prime location. Some Europeans guests have called our Hawaii studio condo spacious, some North American guests have called it small but we call it just right for us and that`s all that matters as it is our home by choice. We live in our Hawaii home for a total of about 3 to 4 months every year. We and our daughter Sandra and her family have been gradually upgrading our unit whenever here. It is to the point where we are almost completed although we realize that upgrades and maintenance are ongoing by nature. We divide our time between our beach homes in Kona, Hawaii, as well as Acapulco, Mexico and our main residences in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. May the Hawaiian aloha spirit accompany you wherever your travels take you.
