This is the bohemian/arty part of Liverpool, with Lark Lane offering lots of fantastic bars, pubs, restaurants, deli's, cafe's, galleries and a monthly farmers market.
The best and biggest park in Liverpool, Sefton park, is right on the doorstep and is great for the summer. Lots of green open space, the lake, bike rental, a restaurant and of course the summer festivals including Africa Oye and the Food Festival. The smaller Princes Park is also right opposite.
It is incredibly easy to travel to the city centre - the 82 bus (7 mins walk) runs every 3 mins and takes you straight into town, and St Michaels train station is only a 10 min walk away.
A taxi will cost no more than £5 into the heart of the city centre.
There are also 3 nearby City Bike rental kiosks, the closest is a 1 min walk away.
