Surrounded by gardens of flowering perennials, vegetables and chickens coop, my charming little house sits atop a ferned hill, overlooking the Saxtons River. Each room is a unique mix of original art and eclectic furniture, comfortable and welcoming, I hope. My studio is available to rent for a group to work or as a workshop classroom. I facilitate workshops in collage and writing and floor cloth painting, but you are welcome to create your own private open studio group. Dogs may be welcome.

Jeanette's place is peaceful. The house overlooks a vibrant view: a garden, a cabin, a flock of chickens wandering, three goats foraging about, and a gleaming stream hiding behind the bushes. It is a land of peach blossom, furthermore, a place that gives its guests a sincere welcome. Jeanette is a good host. Having offered me generous help, she made my entire stay feel at home. Otis and Roo are good hosts. Running around the floor, horsing around in the grass, begging for food wherever there is a trace of smell, they are the dogs that energize the house-- keeping it as colorful as it is painted on the walls. The chickens and the goats are good hosts. Not only do the chickens lay eggs for us, their being is harmonious with everything else of the place, which forms a picturesque environment of a lovely house in rural Vermont.

Jeanette's place is a quirky late 19th century home with a view of the Saxton's River. It is conveniently close to the village of Bellows Falls. Art lovers will be especially interested to see her floor coverings, wall murals, and paintings throughout the home.

What a place! Jeannette's home is filled with art. We loved seeing Jeannette's artistry on the walls, the ceilings, the floors, and the cabinets. Such a fun place to tuck away for the night!

Our two nights with Jeanette were very nice and evoked the feeling we were staying with a friend. We felt welcome from the minute we met her and the dogs. The house is decorated with her artwork throughout and lends a memorable charm to the overall experience. We love the French press coffee in the morning! Our room was clean and private with a comfortable bed. Jeanette is a warm, friendly host who is not intrusive but cares that your stay is comfortable and relaxing. We will definitely be back!

The house is very cozy and artistic. Jeanette's beautiful paintings and murals are everywhere, which I loved. It is a little farmette, with goats and chickens, and has an incredible view of the forests on the mountain from the back screened in porch. Jeanette was very generous with her living space - allowing me full access to kitchen, bathroom and shared spaces. The house is in a tiny neighborhood which is very quiet after 11 pm. If you're looking for a quiet setting that has easy access to other and towns this is for you.

Jeanette was great. Very friendly, welcoming, and interesting. She has turned the inside of her house into a space on which she has created wonderful artwork. Her son and daughter were home visiting, and they were very welcoming also. Her dogs and cat were friendly. The room is large on the second floor with a comfortable bed. The shared bathroom on the first floor. The house is cozy. It's very easy to get to the highway--just a few miles.

I love to travel, my traveling too includes staying with local hosts whether thru Air BNB, friends of friends or small B and Bs and convents. I love to go to the places off the beaten path, to learn the local floral and fauna, as it were. I prefer to blend in. So, as my guest, you are friend, I've not yet met!
I am, at this point in my life, primarily an artist. My 3 children have grown and fledged. I love to cook with local, fresh ingredients, if I didn't grow it, I know the farmer who did. My work is a diverse mixture of collage, still life paintings, whimsical floor cloths and fabric designs, seemingly unrelated media and palette yet connected by threads of similar elements and focus. I love to read, and am always looking for new suggestions. We spend alot of time outside up here in Vermont, kayaking, hiking trails near and far, swimming the river in back are my favorites for summer, snow shoeing, cross country skiing in Winter.
So, this is me, but I am really excited to learn about you! I look forward to meeting you and introducing you to local favorites and hearing about your adventures and new discoveries!
