Grebaštica is a picturesque settlement 15 km towards south from Šibenik, located by the Adriatic road called Magistrala, in a deep bay near the peninsula of Oštrica.
Grebaštica was for the first time mentioned in 1298 as "Grebac". The remains of Roman buildings prove that a Roman settlement existed here.
The most significant historical monument of this area is definitely a very well preserved defensive wall with loop-holes built in 1497. It's about 6-9 m high and 60-80 cm wide, it baffles the whole peninsula, and its main purpose was to protect the inhabitants from the Turkish attacks.
Today traditional occupations of the inhabitants remained still preserved: olive-growing and cattle-breeding.
