Ideally located in the heart of Bella Vista, just two blocks from the Italian Market, this home is a great escape from the city. Stay comfortably in a light filled room, with easy access to all that Philly has to offer!

The house is a great 100 year old Philadelphia row home. We are working hard to restore the original character to the house that has been slowly removed over the last century. We have recently updated the upstairs bathroom and are working on some other minor upgrades to the home as well. However, our house is clean and welcoming to our guests and a wonderful 3 bedroom space for you to enjoy.

You will have access to two bedrooms, semi-private finished basement (with optional full height, queen air mattress), two full bathrooms (one with shower, one with tub/shower), an equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, dishwasher, a washer/dryer, cable tv, wifi.
*the 3rd bedroom is a private office, which we ask you do not access*

(if using items in kitchen, please be respectful and wash and return to original location)

Often if we are renting out the entire house, it means we are out of town. However, we are available via phone and have friends in the local area to help out in case of emergencies. We have lived in Philadelphia for many years now, and know our way around. We can help you find what to do/see/eat throughout the city, or stay local in our wonderful neighborhood. From a bite to eat or a drink across the street at Royal Tavern, to catching a ride to high-end Rittenhouse, we can help you plan your experience.

Bella Vista is a premier residential neighborhood in Philadelphia, but don't confuse residential with quiet. We have great restaurants and shops throughout, especially in the bustling Italian Market (just 2 blocks from our house), which is country's oldest open air market that is still in existence today. You can run past the vendors, like in the opening scene from Rocky, where this largely unchanged stretch of 9th Street is still full of food vendors, cooking shops, cafes and restaurants. You can certainly get your fill of great Italian food here! A few blocks North, you can tour quirky South Street, with interesting shops, people watching, and famed mosaic murals everywhere you look (there is even a view of one from our guest room)! We are also walkable to the famed Pats and Genos. Follow Passyunk Avenue right out front and you can't miss the bright lights and long lines synonymous with the cheesesteak fame! A ten minute walk puts you in the adorable Passyunk Square neighborhood which offers many shops and restaurants to explore. A 20 minute walk puts you in the heart of Old City and all of Philadelphia's history. Philadelphia was built as a walking city, you really enjoy it the best that way! To get you further, a center city bound bus stops right out our front door, and an Indego Bike rental station is 2 blocks away. You can get anywhere in the city with easy.

Philadelphia is such a walking city. Rated highly as an easy city to navigate [numbered streets run north/south – named streets (especially the tree named streets) run east/west]. You can walk to the heart of the city in less than 30 minutes, and enjoy the sites along the way. Other ways of getting around:
-The #47 bus runs right out front (north on 7th & south on 8th). This will link you to all major transit hubs, including the Market-Frankfort subway line (with access to 30th street station) and Jefferson Station (regional rail).
-To get south to the stadiums (Lincoln Financial / Citizens Park/ Wells Fargo Center), you can walk 15 min. to the Ellsworth Street stop on the Broad Street Line. Then it’s just 4 stops to the stadiums (AT&T Station).
-The fastest way to get around will be grabbing a cab or Uber. A trip to city hall should run about $6 using UberX.
-To get to/from the 30th Street Station: Use Uber or Taxi = about 15 min. (will run about $10-$15 depending on traffic)
-To get to/from the airport: Use Uber or Taxi = about 15 - 20 min. (you can opt out of the flat rate in a taxi cab, and will run between $18-$22 depending on traffic)

We have the flexibility of a key-less entry on our home. This allows you to come and go as you please, all by typing in a pin number. All that we ask is you let us know your ETA, so we can greet you. Should you arrive after 11 pm, we can arrange for you to have access to the house, but we require advance notice.

Perfil de usuario de Joe & SteveJoe & Steve es Superhost.

We are Joe and Steve, a recently married couple who are settling into our new home in Philadelphia. We also have a cute dog named Tucker (he is a Glenn-of-Imaal Terrier; hypo-allergenic and does not shed). We are both originally from the NYC suburbs but have been in Philly for years and love our adopted home town!

A little bit about us:

We love all things Mid Century, especially searching for vintage flea market deals. Our home reflects this and is decorated with a blend of 60's and modern style. (Think Mad Men)

Steve is an architect and Joe is an engineer (with a focus on sustainability). During our current home projects - these backgrounds are both useful and a challenge. We hope the house lives up to our standards!

We are definite foodies and LOVE great meals, and Philly is an excellent town for dining!!! In addition to food, we love cool happy hour spots, fun architecture, theater and real estate. HGTV is a staple in our household and we make a habit of wandering into open houses even though we're really not in the market for a new place at the moment =)

We love entertaining and hosting, and enjoy cooking and opening our home to our friends.

We welcome you to come explore our vibrant little city and discover for yourself what Philly has to offer.
Hope to see you very soon.
