Descripción

"Vinola" is charming cabin built in the early 1930's. It underwent a total interior renovation in 2016 and we can't wait to share it with you.

Vinola has one bedroom with a queen bed. The main room has one single bed, a single cot and a queen pull out sofa. The loft has 2 single cots. Full kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator, and microwave. The bathroom has a toilet and shower. There is no TV. (you won't miss it, we promise!) Vinola has a lovely porch on the front and a fire pit and swing set in the back. There are trails in Pachaug and Arcadia management areas that start at the end of the driveway.
The Top 3 questions we get:
1. Do we need to bring firewood?
You are welcome to collect deadwood from the forest surrounding the cabin for free. We also provide firewood bundles for $3/bundle.
2. Does the cabin have pots and pans?
Yes, the cabin is equipped with everything you need for basic cooking.
3. Does the sauna work?
Yes! The sauna is available year round.

Guests have private access to the entire cabin. A short 400 foot walk from the porch leads to the property's private beach which guests are welcome to use. There is a picnic table and multiple fire pits for campfires. Guests are also welcome to use our 10 person wood fired Finnish sauna. The sauna has a lakeside deck and direct access to the water for a dip. Guests are welcome to use kayaks, canoe, paddle boat, paddle board, and row boat.

Typically, we will be on the property for some part of every day as we live in the main house. If for some reason, we are not around, we have a list of phone numbers in the cabin if you should need assistance with anything. For an additional fee we can provide guided hikes in beautiful Pachaug State Forest upon request.

This is a small, rural, lakeside community. There is far more activity on the lake in the summer months and it is very quiet in the winter. We have one neighbor on either side of our 7 acre property and both are rarely occupied summer homes.

There is no public transportation here. The nearest train station is Westerly Rhode Island, or New London, CT both of which are about 40 minutes away. The nearest airports are Providence, RI (PVD) and Hartford, CT (BDL).

We have another cabin on the property, one camp trailer (occupied only in the summer) as well as two main houses. We have many family members on the property at any given time and all are friendly and happy you are staying with us! Just remember that there are other people living here, so we expect respect for them as far as noise.

No smoking inside the cabin or on the porch. You may smoke a distance away, but please do not throw your butts on the ground.

Please leave the cabin in the same condition you found it. This cabin has been rented to the same families for 44 years. Multiple generations have grown up here coming every summer. They love it and have many fond memories of it. Let's preserve it for the next 44 years! Please sweep and tidy up before you leave.

Life jackets are required when taking any of the watercraft out on the lake. We have plenty that you can borrow.

Pets: We do allow pets, however we expect our guests to take care of them. ALL PETS MUST BE ON A LEASH OUTSIDE. Please pick up pet droppings immediately and dispose of them property. If you need to leave your pets in the cabin when you go out, they MUST be in a kennel. We can provide one if needed. This is to protect our cabins from damage. Many pets get fearful when left alone in a new place. We've have dogs break screens and get out while owners were away. That is why we instituted the kennel rule.

Absolutely no candles of any kind! The cabin is newly remodeled and is a labor of love. It is all wood and we cannot risk a fire.

Such an adorable cabin that has everything you need for a quiet trip away. We kayaked around the pond, relaxed in the sauna, made pancakes and slept amazingly. Our dogs loved the outdoors too! Can't wait to be back.

Angela's cabin is way better than we anticipated. It is rustic, cozy and clean!! The lake was amazing and the hiking trails are close by. We truly enjoyed our one night stay with our kids and 2 dogs. The fact that they are pet friendly is very important to us. We were overjoyed to meet Chip Chip- the friendliest little Terrier ever walking around the property. Angela was even kind enough to loan us a dog crate during our stay. This place is definitely worth a return trip!

This was my first time using Airbnb and I surely set the bar high. The cabin was great and my 3 kids loved it, but we'll definitely have to come back when its not raining and freezing out. We definitely needed the heater in late April which was a bummer. The kids loved going out on the docks and imagined how nice it would be to swim or kayak another time. We enjoyed not having a TV and spent time playing the board games that were in the cabin. We'd love to come back and enjoy the lake sometime!

Madison, my dog, and I stayed here so my wife could manage the showing of our house in Boston. It is our first road trip together. We could not have found a better place than this cabin amidst the woods, lakes and the sea shore. We hiked five miles a day, climbed the beach dunes at Watch Hill, and a very dog-friendly, sumptuous restaurant meal at the Bridge. We leave closer together and very happy. Thanks Angela. Fred

We had a great time here with our two kids, ages 1 and 3. The water was chilly in early April, but we were undeterred! This is a great place to relax and play and the cabin had everything we needed.

Place was amazing, so clean. Doing renovations so it was practically all brand new inside. The wood burning sauna was the best sauna ive ever been in. Great communications. Will def stay over again.

This cabin was cute, clean, spacious, and the property is great. We used the canoe and paddled all around the lake which was absolutely picturesque and beautiful, so we wore ourselves out before we got to use the sauna. We had a fire and horses were right near our cabin. They were so gorgeous. It was a great place.

I have recently left my 16 year corporate career in the pharma industry to becoming a full time AirBnB host. There is nothing I enjoy more than sharing my spaces with my guests and meeting people from all over the world. I get a lot of satisfaction out of providing more than just a place to sleep, but a special experience that my guests will remember.

I also own and instruct at two aerial fitness studios and am an avid Acro Yogi with my husband. I have a zeal for adventure and travel is my greatest indulgence. I'm happy to leave the cities and shopping to the tourists and eat and hike my way on the less beaten path. As an AirBnB guest, I always try to leave the space a bit better than I found it and have been known to clean stove pans or ceiling fans or some other task I know hosts hate to do.

We have two kids, ages 7 and 10, 1 cat, a dog, 2 horses, and 2 hermit crabs.

AirBnB has made the news a lot recently for listings that are managed by a property manager and not actual homes. Although I have many listings, I manage all my own listings and only hire cleaning help for my apartment. We have owned our house in Pawcatuck for 15 years and our lake house for 14 years (Although it has been in the family since the 60's) We have been doing short term rentals since long before AirBnB existed. My style as an AirBnB host is simple, gracious, and friendly. We are all in this together, so let's make the best of it and enjoy the adventure! What I enjoy most about being a host is the continuous improvement process. I love to hear feedback and tweak my listings so they are always the best they can be! My favorite kind of guest is one who appreciates my space and gives me thoughtful suggestions. I also appreciate guests who see the human side of hosting and know that although I strive for perfection, no one can ever be perfect. Sometimes I miss a crumb on the stove and I never iron my sheets!
