This is a lovely room in a bungalow which is right by the sea. At night you can hear the crashing of the waves and by day you can walk along the almost empty beaches. It is not, however, a self catering , self contained space. It is a bnb.
This room is in a quirky bungalow by the sea and it is where we live. The views are wonderful , and the location perfect, right down on Lower Flat Cliff just South of Filey.
Primarily it is a place for those looking for a bit of peace and quiet, but Filey is within walking distance across the beach, or a ten minute drive away. Filey has restaurants, pubs and a Community center which shows films, has concerts and occasional theatre productions.Scarborough and Bridlington are not much further away.
There are buses every hour throughout the day, from Primrose Valley into Filey,Scarborough and Bridlington, but they do stop around six o clock.
The bungalow is also handy for Bempton cliffs, so those of you who are interested in birds and bird watching will be in a seventh heaven. If you are a walker, Filey is at the end of the Cleveland Way which is a long walk across the beautiful North York Moors. You can walk, come home to a nice hot bath and relax in front of this gorgeous view.
I can provide a simple breakfast of cereal and toast, and you are welcome to make your own tea and coffees whenever you want. If you want the full Monty however, there is the Primrose Valley Diner, only a five minute walk away which does a wonderful freshly cooked breakfast.
I do have Wi Fi and there is parking on my driveway, so no worries there. The room is clean and comfortable and while not ensuite, the bathroom is close. One thing to note however is that the shower is above the bath, and some people might struggle with that arrangement.
Servicios y zonas comunes
It is not self catering but there is a microwave you can use to make snacks and please help yourself to cups of tea or coffee.
Atención a los huéspedes
I do live here myself, however there would be no other guests here except you and your companion(s) . ( I keep a low profile). There is another room in the bungalow that has two single beds , if you have friends or relatives that want to come with you. That is listed seperately under a Room by the Sea. For that room it is £25 for the first person and £13 for the second.
Otros aspectos destacables
It is a quiet place so it may not be much fun for those who want a more exciting experience.
there is a smoking area outside the house, please put your stubs in the ashtray provided and not on the floor. Pets are welcome , just let me know if you do want to bring your pet(s).
I am a bit of an ageing hippy and I like living in this beauttful quiet place next to the sea. I am also very sociable however and I like to have guests.
My bungalow was built in 1925 and still retains some of its quirkiness. that means that it is not full of modern technology but I do have WiFi so I can keep in touch with all my friends, and you can do that too. When I am here I lead a relatively simple life, and if you want a restful few days away from the hurley burley then this would suit you. It is within easy reach of Scarborough,Bridlington or York for that matter, so nowhere is too far way. I have books and I have music so you need not be bored. I do like pets although at the moment I don't have any. Dogs like it here, as they too can go for walks on the beach or take a dip in the sea.
If you are a birdwatcher,Bempton Cliffs are visible from the house and it is possible to see puffins there at the right time of the year. the photograph shows the view of Bempton cliffs from my front porch. Even the winters here have their charm so there is something for everyone all the year round.
