The original atmosphere of Dordogne with its pittoresk charm is present in this two-hundred year old renovated farmhouse, with its great hall and pool, situated completely free on top of the beautifull hills between the Dordogne and Vezere rivers.
Le Peyrat Bas is a two hundred year old manor house in typical Perigordian style ‘en pierres’ with the original roof of stones (socalled 'lauzes') as you can admire in medieval cities like Sarlat. It has a swimming pool with view over the hills, a stone courtyard on the South with a dinnertable and seats. You can have breakfast in the morningsun and in the evening you can relax at the terrace with a glass of wine admiring the impressive sky. This is the real Dordogne!

Atención a los huéspedes
The house is completely free to use for the guests, except for my own private room. In case I myself will welcome you or the dutch couple Gipon who live in the neighbourhood, will introduce you when you arrive.
Otros aspectos destacables
In summer to keep the house cool it is recommended to close the shutters after 12.00 hr. as the locals do.
The house has a septic tank, so please throw no carbage or foodrests through the drains or toilets.
Bring sun-oil or suncream to protect you and be careful not to be burned at the swimmingpool at the first day.
It is a private house, so the assumption is that you use the house with the same respect and appreciation as you do with your own belongings. You can use everything, the equipment and utensils in the kitchen and the washingmachine etc. as you need it. It should be nice if you left everything as you wish to find it yourself and that you replenish the stocks for others to use.
Fire is according to European rules not allowed in the open air, but there is a barbecue for outside.
Pets are not allowed, neither is smoking inside the house. Please do not leave butts or stubs in the environment.
I am a biolologist who loves the beauty of nature as well as culture. Both are abundantly present specifically in this part of Dordogne with the elementary qualities: space, silence, quietness and deep darkness in the night. The song of birds, the tracks of animals, the cave paintings and the lovely villages are the soul of this region. I love to hike and I sing in a little choir there.
In 1998 my husband fell immediately in love with the house for which I now take care. I live near Amsterdam and try to be in Dordogne over the year as much as possiblie. When I am not there, a friendly dutch couple living in the neighbourhood will welcome you.
