Beautiful 1794 cottage captures charm of past with all modern amenities! Just steps from shops, restaurants, and park, cottage backs to North East Creek where heron and fish abound! A perfect getaway as you explore all the Chesapeake has to offer!

With a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room and powder room on the first floor, you'll feel right at home! Front and back porches provide great views of the gardens and plenty of space to just relax. Both bedrooms and a shower bath are located on the second floor where the master bedroom has a queen size bed and the guest room has two twin beds (new pictures to follow), accommodating four people. For your convenience, there is cable and internet service, and a laundry upstairs where you can access the original back staircase winding down to the kitchen!

In addition to the front and back porches, the home's lovely gardens can be viewed from a second floor balcony. Guests are also invited to enjoy sitting out on the water - whether to relax, enjoy the wildlife, or fish in the tidal creek. Access is provided from the host's home, only two doors away from the cottage.

Your hosts live only two doors away and will be happy to share information about the area's many attractions and restaurants. We also welcome you to share our Adirondack chairs down on the creek!

In the midst of a renaissance, the quaint town of North East, once a fishing village, offers something for everyone - charming shops, restaurants, a waterfront park where you can fish, enjoy a picnic or put in your kayak! Within a few minutes drive, you can be golfing, or enjoying Elk Neck State Park where one can hike, swim, boat or walk out to the Turkey Point Lighthouse which sits on bluffs 100 feet above the water, offering spectacular views of the Chesapeake Bay and the five rivers feeding into it.

Ideally situated, the town of North East is midway between Baltimore and Philadelphia and only two miles off of Interstate 95. Biking along country roads or on trails is plentiful, and there are several marinas to accommodate pleasure boats. Turkey Point State Park, the historic towns along the northern Chesapeake Bay and C&D Canal, Fair Hill Nature Preserve, Cecil Community College, the University of Delaware, and many points of interest are only a short car ride away.

PARKING: A parking space is designated for guest's use a few steps away at the host's residence. Parking is also available on the street in front of the house.
BATHROOM Access: The shower bath on the second floor can be readily accessed from the laundry room, just behind the Master Bedroom. From the second bedroom, guests may elect to use either the first floor powder room, or access the shower bathroom from the back stairway or by going through the master bedroom.

PETS: We regret that we cannot accommodate pets.
SMOKING: Not permitted in the house, but guests are welcome to smoke outside on the porch.
CARE: Guests are asked to use racks provided for suitcases and generally respect the restoration efforts so that this 200+ year old home may be enjoyed in years to come!

Our family loved Caye and Franco! This house is a warm and welcoming place to stay. The house is in the downtown area of North East Maryland and is convenient to all the local stores and shops. We will be staying here again when we come home to see our family.

Great house within easy walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. We have stayed there twice and both experiences have been excellent.

Our hosts were super-accommodating when our original arrival time turned out to be significantly later than we had planned. Thankfully, we were able to coordinate easily via text message. The house is a renovated historic home, circa 1794, with beautifully restored original floors along with other interesting details from that era. The interior has modern conveniences, including a washer and dryer adjacent to the master suite, and central air that kept the upstairs cool even on hot days. The exterior has three spaces to enjoy--the front porch is a great perch from which to watch the world roll by, while the back porch offers a more contemplative view of the trees. There's also a veranda off the second floor. The outdoor spaces are flanked by lovely gardens. And the backyard has ample space for children to play. The house is incredibly well situated. A decent coffee shop is literally a one-minute walk from the front door, while the town's charming shops and restaurants are all within a short walk, ranging from two minutes to maybe 10 minutes, at the most. Although North East is a popular destination, we almost never had any problems finding street parking in proximity to the house. And the hosts, who live a couple doors down, offer additional parking in their driveway if none is otherwise available. Lastly, North East offers a good base of operations from which to explore other nearby cute towns, such as Havre de Grace and Chesapeake City.

Great location and very cool historic home. Caye and Franco were excellent hosts, even dropping off some fresh vegetables from their garden. The balcony and porch were nice to relax on and we walked to cute antique shops and great restaurants. The only thing to keep in mind is that there is one full bathroom and 2 bedrooms upstairs, but the bathroom is only easily accessible through one of the bedrooms. Wasn't too much of an issue for us but depending on who you are sharing the house with it could be.

"Semi" retired, I continue to work part time as a nurse, but enjoy cooking, reading and gardening whenever I have a chance. My husband, Franco, is a retired barber who was born in Italy and speaks fluent Italian. He spent several years meticulously restoring our residence and our lovely guest cottage. Besides maintaining our historic properties, Franco is a cycling enthusiast, beekeeper and gardener. Together, we operated The Inn at North East Creek, a beautiful bed and breakfast, for six years. We look forward to providing the same high quality accommodations in our rental property as we did for our B&B guests. Weather permitting, we both enjoy spending a pleasant evening along the banks of the creek watching the abundant wildlife. We hope our guests will do likewise!
