My place is close to the Santa Monica Mountains, and equidistance to CLU & CSUCI, & about 1/2 hour to the beach. You’ll love my place because its on a quiet, safe cul-de-sac. The comfy room, private backyard & friendly housemates will make you feel right at home. I have lived here for almost 30 years and can point you in the direction you want to go, with helpful advice about the area and it's amenities. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travelers.

El espacio
This bedroom is on the west side of my home, with a view out to the front of the house, and the Santa Monica Mountains beyond the neighborhood. The room is carpeted, and features beautiful mandala painting created by shaman/artist, Jim Berenholtz. The room is furnished with a full sized bed, dresser, desk and chair; bookshelf and has a full size wardrobe closet with more shelves inside. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I added a small refrigerator and microwave oven, so that the occupant can "shelter-in-place."

¿Dónde me voy a quedar?

Thousand Oaks, California, Estados Unidos

Mist of my neighbors know each other and we look out for each other. My home is inside 3 cul-de-sacs, so we never get through traffic from people who don't belong here. It's a safe, quiet place where you hear birds (nature) instead of traffic.

My ABC's: I am articulate, bright, courteous, discrete, energetic, friendly, grounded, hospitable, interesting, joyful, kind, lively, multi-faceted, neighborly, optimistic, peripetetic, quick-witted, reliable, sociable, trust-worthy, urbane, vivacious, warm-hearted, eXperienced, (been there, done that) young-at-heart, and zany at times. I have traveled the world and raised four wonderful kids to be self-sufficient, independent, contributing members of society. Since they vacated their bedrooms, that made room for YOU! Five things I can not live without: Family, friends, travel, life-long-learning, and making the world a better place. My motto: "Always leave a place better off than you found it." My little corner of the world: I live about one mile from the western end of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. It's the mountain range that separates Malibu and the Pacific Ocean from the San Fernando Valley, Thousand Oaks and all the way to the Camarillo Plain. You can hike or ride your mountain bike from my front door, through Sycamore Canyon, all the way to the beach at Sycamore Cove, about 12 miles away. When the kids were young, we used to do it as a family every Spring and enjoy the wild flowers in bloom. We are about equi-distance from Downtown Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. Without traffic (plan your commute time...) it takes less than an hour to get to either of them. Ventura is about 30 minutes away. LAX is also less than an hour away, depending on traffic. My home is surrounded by open space, maintained hiking and mountain biking trails, and there are many community parks nearby, as well as shopping, public transportation, and many arts and cultural venues. For me, one of the best things about travel is coming home to my own lovely home. I always am so appreciative to be able to live in such a wonderful location, in a safe and diverse community, close to nature and the arts and culture of a major metropolitan area like Los Angeles; yet hear birds outside, instead of traffic.
