Located at 20 minutes from the center of Bordeaux between the two seas, our house is in a small village on the banks of the Garonne river. Ideally situated for access to the country surroundings, there is direct access to the ring road of Bordeaux that leads to the airport which is 35 minutes from the house, 20 minutes from the train station, and 25 mintes from the "parc des expositions". The ocean is an hour and a half away.
The stores are not numerous. However, there is a drugstore, a bakery where you can also get the daily newspapers, a florist, a bistro- café with bar, a pizza restaurant that is 50 meters away ( closed on Mondays, Tuesday and Sunday nights), and a bric-à-brac trade shop.
We propose a room with breakfast, and the price includes the sejourn tax of 1.10 euros per day.
The main entrance is not street-side as indicated by the address, but on a pathway along the river.
The room opens on to a privately enclosed garden on the bank of the Garonne river. It is designed like a small suite, and is completely independent from the rest of the house. The alcove room consists of a living room with storage space, a small office, a couch, a vintage radio-cassette player, and wifi access. There is a spacious Italian style shower, and the floor is made up of pebble tiles that are pleasant to little bare feet . Room laundry is provided for.
Breakfast is served in our summer kitchen right next door to the room. If you prefer to not go out for dinner every night, you can use the refrigerator as well as the microwave oven or the barbecue.
The room is tastefully decorated with home-made objects to promote a calm and peaceful atmosphere.
This right bank of Bordeaux has an abundance of charming villages and historical sites to visit. The area is ideal for bike riding, tree climbing; water skiing…and nice estates where you can do some fine wine tasting.
