I stayed here for one month in September while searching for an apartment in Paris. The neighbourhood was fantastic! It's close to the old Opera and Galerie LaFayette, as well as near Pigalle.
However, I would not recommend this studio for longer than one or two nights, and only if you spend a lot of time outside of the studio. It is much too small for more than one person. Also, there is some plumbing problem and eventually, the bathroom begins to smell. Since the bathroom is right next to the kitchen (only a sliding door separates the two areas), the smell carries over to where you are preparing your food.
In addition, we agreed on a check-in time, and then I had to wait for 2 hours in the apartment courtyard while they cleaned the place. When I was checking out, I messaged the guy a week in advance about my check-out time and he did not respond. I emailed him the night before my check-out day and again, he did not respond. Then he called me at 3:30pm on the day I was to check-out (while I was in class), asking if I am ready. I asked, "ready for what"? He explained he had someone arriving at 4pm and needed me to leave. I explained I am in class until 5:30pm and can be out of the apartment at 7pm at the earliest. He claimed to have sent me a message the night before about being out before 4pm. He said that "AirBnb must not be working". I asked him to send me a photo of the message and of course, he said he will send it to me but never did. Overally, unpleasant experience.
The person renting the studio is not the owner and it was quite difficult to get him to respond back to me (language barrier perhaps?). I had to file a complaint with AirBnb to cover myself. Overall, the smell and the lack of communication added to my stress of finding a long-term apartment in Paris and left me with a negative impression of this studio. I would not stay here again and I would not recommend it to anyone. Book this place only if you're really desperate and need a place for one or two nights in a great location!
