Amy’s Local BNB is nestled among huge fir trees in a quiet neighborhood a short walk from downtown Sebastopol. This sunny contemporary gem focuses on our commitment to local and sustainably sourced food, wine, and crafts. With a full kitchen, you can enjoy the comforts of a meal cooked “at home” from the local farmer’s market, or walk to superb local eateries. We will share maps to our favorite swimming hole on the Russian River or to ocean beaches, or introduce you to excellent local vintners.
Amy's Local BNB is a completely separate studio on the third floor of our home in Sebastopol. You enter via a private exterior staircase into this newly renovated space with high ceilings and wonderful views of old growth fir trees and the valley and hills beyond. As a professional contractor and interior architect, we have taken great pride in the quality of the design and construction. The full kitchen has top quality appliances, and we have included a full complement of cooking and serving wares. There is a queen bed (100% latex mattress) and a washer/dryer. You will have WiFi and a Netflix account to use. (No cable or local TV stations).
There is a hot tub and a private back patio with a gas grill available for guests from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Coffee or tea, with organic additives of your choice, and fresh home-baked gluten-free pastries are complimentary each morning. As an extra service, we can provide full breakfasts and/or picnic basket lunches, or fresh eggs from the girls in the backyard.
We are in the process of transforming the back yard into a permaculture micro-farm. We have installed large rainwater storage tanks that provide irrigation water for the fruit and vegetable gardens, and a seasonal swale, with native plants, that soaks water into the ground. We are creating a full-circle ecosystem with kitchen scraps feeding the chickens, to compost, to gardens, and back to the kitchens. Come be part of our nourishing circle.
Servicios y zonas comunes
You will have full use of this private studio and parking in the driveway. Please note that the studio is up two flights of stairs and is not handicap accessible. A hot tub and patio with a small BBQ and bistro table is available for all guests.
We now have air conditioning in the unit, but the temperature is rarely above 80 in Sebastopol and cool breezes from the coast make for great sleep.
Atención a los huéspedes
We will be available to guide your stay with places to see and people to meet, or we can respect your complete privacy.
Otros aspectos destacables
We are about 25 minutes from both the Russian River and the coast. There are wonderful small wineries in Sebastopol and the surrounding Sonoma County hillsides. We are about 30 minutes from Napa Valley, and about an hour and half to San Francisco.
We ask that you respect our quiet neighborhood and keep noise and music low. We ask that you are quiet after 10pm. Please also do not run the clothes washer after 10pm as it is loud to the space below. Please separate trash, recycling, and compost in their appropriate containers.
I moved to Sebastopol a couple of years ago with my 8 year old daughter, Brooklyn to live my new husband Lewis. We are settling in with the chickens and the cat and have been working on our dream to have a bed and breakfast that reflects our commitment to community, local food, and the beauty of Sonoma County. We want to share with you our love of this place and our growing friendships with local farmers and vintners, and special places we have come to know. My background is in art and design, and I managed the interior design department for ten years for a major architecture firm. I then worked in pre-fab architectural products sales in the Bay Area for two years. I am grateful now for a slower pace and the opportunity to live a more sustainable lifestyle with Brooklyn and Lewis. I look forward to sharing these gifts with our guests.
