Gökyüzünde is a sanctuary for myself and everyone that comes. We ask that you treat it the same. Be considerate of neighbors and enjoy yourself.

A FEW THINGS You Should Know:

The view of the "Old City" Sultanahmet and over the roofs of Istanbul is gorgeous. The price is you must walk up to get here! In historic buildings and old cities, stairs are quite common. Ours are wide, lit well, clean and sturdy. But, if they will be difficult for you, a hotel with an elevator will be your best choice for a view.

Smoking is not permitted at all in the home. Allergies and all that. Guests who smoke may do so outside of the home.

Consistent with many homes here, this is a shoeless household. Outdoor shoes should stay just inside by the entry foyer. You are most welcome to wear socks, house slippers of your own, or borrow a pair here for your stay. This keeps dust down, relaxation and good energy high.

This is a home first. To keep costs reasonable, we make sure the home is clean and provide fresh linens and towels. You make up your own bed when you arrive, and strip it down when you leave. You'll also do a basic sweep and empty and your trash.

Same as above, this is a beloved home, so we ask that you generally tidy up after yourself when leaving. This includes throwing things away in the proper receptacles and washing, drying and putting away dishes. Enjoy yourself and be comfortable, and when you leave, it should be as if you were never there.

If you confirm for one or two persons, please be that number of guests. We don't mind our guests having periodic visitors, but no de facto live-ins.

Please provide photo copy of your legal ID and your emergency contact info when you arrive, for your safety and ours. You can bring the ID copy with you. We know many people are traveling internationally. Should we need to be of service, that will help us help you. We will also confirm your cell phone/text number and email address

We ask that you sign off on a few things so that we know we're on the same page when you arrive:
- the house rules and home condition
- a basic checklist of tidying up when you leave. we have the house thoroughly cleaned, but prefer guests that are happy to clear their debris.

We had a wonderful time at the flat in Istanbul. Our hosts were very attentive and allowed us to extend our stay last minute. The space itself is beyond beautiful and the location was perfect for all sorts of city exploration.

Wonderful apartment in the heart of residential Istanbul! Amazing views and perfect location for great food and bars. Bit of a journey to the tourist areas but that's all part of the experience. Would definitely stay there again. Loved it.

Very beautiful loft, everything looks exactly like the photos shown online! Prime location, super easy to get to any restaurants, bars, shops ( all within walking distance). Thank you very much for sharing this amazing place – the loft is beautiful! Really nice interior, stunning bosporus view and lively neighborhood. But I would definitely recommend this place :) We hope to come back to Istanbul one day and to have the chance to stay at your place again. Thanks a lot!

While there were some logistical issues with the apartment that somewhat marred our stay, I think these were likely an aberration from the norm. Otherwise, this is a lovely, serene spot that offers a spacious retreat from the hustle and bustle of Istanbul. The location in Beyoglu makes an excellent base for exploring the city. There are tons or restaurants, bars, and shops nearby and a 10-15 min walk through interesting streets brings you to the metro or the tram.

Okay, first things first: this is the place to be to enjoy Istanbul's night life. If you want quiet and/or secluded, this is not it. If you are a light, sensitive sleeper, this is not it. The bar across the street was up until after 3am with a lot of noise. This was perfect for us though and I would say even helped make the experience better. Okay, so location is fantastic. As far as accommodations go, there's a few things one should know: the furniture is really low quality. The pictures also show what looks like two twin beds upstairs, but in reality it was a twin air mattress. The downstairs bed is about as hard as concrete. The couch and chair downstairs were equally uncomfortable. Kitchen and bath were functional--though the bath is a little awkward. The view is incredible. Zaza, the man who greets and helps is very kind but does speak limited English. He made us feel very welcome and comfortable though and was very patient and understanding with our flexible arrival time. All in all, we agreed that it was worth it for location.

Had a wonderful time in this fantastic apartment! The views were just stunning, spent a long time just sitting and admiring the vista. The location is brilliant, loads going on around the flat; great food places, shopping and drinking. It is also really easy to get to all the tourist attractions. Check-in and check-out were super easy and the place with clean and tidy (and the wifi was good).
