This house is like being in the country—but very close to all the cool/fun stuff in Echo Park. It is very quiet, has has tons of charm, and lots of light. 5 minutes to Dodger Stadium, 10 minutes to downtown, 5 minutes to Silver Lake and 15 minutes to Hollywood.

The house features a private hot tub, piano, large deck, citrus trees, and was recently featured in the New York Times Home & Garden section.

Exclusive parking for 1 car in the driveway. Unrestricted street parking.

Sit on the patio and have a glass of wine, enjoy the view of the Hollywood sign (and the ocean if theres no smog), pick some herbs from the garden, grill something on the bbq and enjoy the splendor of this renovated 1909 cottage!

The master bedroom has a ridiculously comfortable brand new (2016) Saatva king size bed, with a headboard made from wood that was salvaged during renovation.

Sheets, towels, dishes, and all necessary odds and ends supplied. Closet and dresser space also available to hang and put stuff.

The kitchen with original formica from the 50's and a beautiful Gaffers & Sattler stove has all the necessities - fridge, toaster, coffee maker and good cookware.

Free wifi, 55" flatscreen HDTV, cable, and DVD in living room.

The house is 1 mile from Sunset Blvd. a 15-min walk to Elysian Park (home of Dodger Stadium), and there are lots of great restaurants, shops, bars and cafes nearby including Red Hill, The Fix, Sage, Mohawk Bend, Elf, Taix, Two Boots Pizza, and The Echo.

Ample free parking on the street, with NO street cleaning restrictions - so you'll never get a ticket on my block!

Downtown is 5 minutes away by car, and the 2, 5, 101 and 110 freeways are all very close. Burbank is 15 mins, and against rush hour traffic.

This is my house, but I'll be traveling. The other house, next door, is usually an Airbnb rental but the houses are not connected and each has plenty of privacy. (See https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/723736 for the other house).

Exclusive access to the back patio, weber gas grill and garden (with fresh herbs and vegetables), access to any of the fruit trees (lime, lemon, grapefruit, persimmon, kumquat, orange - all seasonal).

Exclusive use of the amazing new hot tub!

There's another guest house next door, but the two houses are completely separate and very private from each other. I'm always available by phone/email/text for any questions.

Echo Park is a very unexpected LA neighborhood - lots of hills (including Baxter, the steepest street in LA) and great views. It's very unlike the stereotype of LA (Sunset Strip) and yet it's very close to great cafes, restaurants and night life.

Uber is the best way to get around if you don't drive. Use my promo code: y9fd9 and get $20 off your first ride!

Organic toiletries are provided, as are towels, linens, all cooking supplies, kitchenware, etc.

A note about pricing: As of Aug 1, 2016 LA Airbnb units now automatically include 14% hotel occupancy tax. I've reduced my rates by 14% to account for the increase. Thanks!

A dog normally lives here, but won't be there for your stay. The place is kept very clean, but if you are very susceptible to dog allergies it may not be suitable. Thanks!

Our stay at Dan's house was wonderful. It is ideally located in Echo Park, it is a quiet and relaxing place while being 10/15min walk from Sunset Bld with all the restaurants, shops, bar, etc. And it is only $4/6 to go downtown using Uber. The house is well equipped, with a very nice garden and the Jacuzzi was definitely a nice plus. Dan answered all our questions immediately while being in another country and was really accommodating. Really great place, we highly recommend it!

Dan's magical bungalow on a quiet residential street is just as described and as the pictures show. We stayed there for 4 nights and it made for an amazing extended weekend getaway. Even though Dan was away in London, he messaged me right away on my check-in day to make sure everything was okay. He also did the same on the day were checking out, and even kindly offered to let us check out late if we needed to because no other guest was checking in that day. The bungalow itself is super cozy with its beautiful landscaping and interior. The bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed and a gorgeous view to wake up to in the morning. There's also a space heater in there, which was perfect for our stay when there happened to be cold, rainy weather (rare in LA, I know!). The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you need to make a meal and there's plenty of space in the fridge to store your food. The living room has a comfy couch with some throw blankets -- any Netflix session you have will be a cozy experience. And last, but certainly not least, the backyard is the home's secret gem -- especially because you get it all to yourself. It's terraced with separate levels for the dining area, the grill, and the hot tub, and all with an incredible view and vibe. If you're ever out there in the evening, the string lights woven throughout and the lights from the homes in the distance create the perfect ambiance for a super chill night. Location-wise, it's fantastic if you want a quiet and private space that's close to the action of DTLA and the surrounding area. For us, it was perfect that it was a quick drive to The Broad, Universal Studios, and the restaurants & bars of DTLA. If given the chance, I'd love love to escape to Dan's place again in the future!

This Echo Park location was amazing! The house was accurate per the pictures and descriptions. Dan provided all the necessary check-in information and even sent local food, drink, and activity recommendations. The location is quite central to many neighborhoods in LA. The outdoor areas are really peaceful and surrounded by beautiful landscaping with a nice view of downtown LA. We really enjoyed our long weekend at Dan's place!

I've been hosting on Airbnb for over 3 years and love it. I know how to respect a place as I'd want my place respected. I'm clean and courteous!
