Descripción

A peaceful bedroom and private bathroom in a spacious home with wonderful mountain views. The room is on the first floor with a private entrance. Also accessible is a washer/dryer, fire pit, organic coffee and tea, and lovely field to walk in.

This quiet space has two french doors that lead out to a patio overlooking the mountains. The private bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom and there is a den space downstairs to sit and work, play or relax in.

You will have access to the bedroom, bathroom, and den downstairs and the gardens just outside the door.

We are delighted to share insights on great places to eat, hike, swim, and hear great live music in the Asheville area. We are developing a permaculture homestead here with organic gardens and bees. If you are interested we enjoy sharing our knowledge of gardening, the Appalachian bioregion, herbs for your health, and nature based education.

The house is in the Beaverdam valley in Candler near Asheville. We are in a rural area where some families have lived for multiple generations.

We are 22 minutes from downtown Asheville and 20 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. You will need a car to get here as public transportation doesn't come here. We can provide directions and GPS will guide you to our home.

We are 22 minutes outside of Asheville on 1.5 acres. Because our home is surrounded by other large parcels and national forest it instantly calms the nerves and relaxes you with the sounds of nature.

Sam is a very nice person. He gave us very good tips and recommendations about the area. It was very easy to communicate with him. We´d stay with him again.

Pros: Host was very responsive via message (they were out of town while we were there). Good distance from Asheville (25-30 minutes to downtown) for the price. Nearby Rejavanation was one of the best breakfasts I've had in a while. Pretty drive to house. Quiet location with lots of privacy. Cons: Bed was super squeaky and not particularly comfortable. Decent place to sleep, but nothing special...definitely not somewhere you want stay if you plan to spend a lot of time at the house. Overall an average experience. Nothing too bad, nothing too great. Asheville was a super great trip though. Glad to have a reliable place to stay.

We really enjoyed staying at this home. Sam was extremely friendly and available for anything questions we had. He responded quickly to any emails or texts that we had. The area is gorgeous and so convenient to Asheville and hiking in the area.

We really enjoyed staying at Sam and Lena's place for our stay in Asheville. The space is as described (I think the bed is bigger in-person than it looks in the photos, and comfortable!), and Sam was very responsive during our stay. The scenery is beautiful and peaceful, so long as you don't mind a 20-minute from Asheville drive on mountain roads. Perfect if it's not vital that you stay in town. Would definitely recommend.

The listing was accurate, clean and cozy. The location was beautiful nestled in the countryside of the outskirts of Asheville. Loved their kitten and place..definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay around the area of Asheville.

Sam and Lena let me know how to access my entrance although they could not be present when I arrived, then both welcomed me warmly when they arrived. Warm and gentle free spirits and conscientious environmentalists, respecting their home with an amazing long view from the back yard!

We bought this house near Asheville in December 2014. Since arriving we have upgraded the house, planted several fruit trees, and created a organic veggie garden. Lena teaches at the nearby Waldorf school and Sam is the Director for the WNC Green Building Council. Lena grew up in KY, attended UNCA, and has traveled extensively in HI, Mexico and the US. Sam grew up in NC and SC, went to the College of Charleston and lived in the Bay area of CA for many years. We got married in the field below our house in May 2015 and are excited to welcome travelers to this spacious and beautiful mountain home.
