Home has a California King bedroom on the top floor with a bathroom and a very comfortable futon in the loft at the top of the stairs. There is a large great room living/dining area with two more bedrooms and a bath downstairs. Another entry door from the carport leads to the laundry room where the washer & dryer are available for your use. We leave some biodegradable non-perfume detergent you can use. There is table and four chairs in the back yard and lounge chairs and side tables for the front deck to enjoy a cocktail and watch the sun set on the mountains. Please do not leave them out at night as they may get sticky with pine sap. There is one large flat screen TV in the living area and books, games, and puzzles for your enjoyment. The kitchen is stocked with basics (dishes, spices, coffee maker and filters, etc) but there is no dishwasher until we renovate. We provide linens, cleaning products, and towels (not beach towels, bring your own please). Each bedroom has an extra old blanket in the closet - we call these "dog" blankets so if your dogs get on furniture or beds at home, please use them so the dogs don't dirty the sofas and bedding. The house has TV cable & Broadband wifi and the code is in the guest binder. Dining table seats eight with the two leaves in and there are four more stools for the island so 10 can eat inside. A gas barbecue is next to the side deck, just outside kitchen.

There is a lockbox at the front door for use with your self-check in code. We strongly recommend you leave that key in the lockbox as there is another for your use just inside the door. We have three owner closets - one in the master bedroom, one in the laundry room, and the downstairs hall where we lock our personal items. Everything else is open and for you to use.

We are happy to take texts and calls during your stay should you have any questions about the house and operating the appliances. If something is not working let us know as soon as possible and do not try to fix it yourself please. Guests will be liable for any charges for a required on-site repair call that was not the fault of the equipment. Spring and early summer is the pine pollen season and falling pinecones can damage your vehicle and your head- be aware and careful.

This neighborhood was built in 1968-72 and has basically two styles of homes, and is surrounded by protected land. About half the neighborhood is owner occupants and the other half second homes that are sometimes rented part-time like ours. We and the neighborhood work very hard to keep it quiet and livable. We must protect the wildlife and neighbors by not providing bears and other wildlife with food so trash management is an important responsibility all renters must abide by. Bears may be put down for coming too close to homes for trash that people leave out. We have a recycling blue can and black can for trash under the kitchen sink. Recyclables are sorted at the transfer station so everything goes in the bear-box. Please make sure the key is not left in the lock - the bears are smart and can open it if you do!

You do need a vehicle to get around but the bicycle trail is literally just behind the house on Al Tahoe Boulevard and takes you straight to the lake or downtown. Make sure to bring a vehicle with four wheel drive and/or appropriate snow tires and chains in winter!

Tahoe Area Regional Transit (TART) operates frequent bus routes on Lake Tahoe's northern and western shores between Tahoma and Incline Village as well as five daily shuttles to Truckee from Tahoe City. Buses run every 30 minutes to an hour from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., depending on the route. There are no night buses, so you have to keep a close eye on the time if you're out on the slopes or the trails. One-way fares cost $1.75, or if you're planning to rely on public transit throughout your trip, you can save money by purchasing a day pass ($3.50), a 10-ride pass ($14) or a 14-day pass ($30). Many of the casinos, motels and ski areas in South Lake Tahoe are connected by a few tour shuttles operated by companies such as BlueGo Services and Discover Lake Tahoe (fares depend on the company and the destination). However, there is a more cost-effective way to travel: Three of the ski areas (the Heavenly Ski Resort, the Kirkwood Mountain Resort and the Sierra-at-Tahoe) also run free shuttles between the slopes and the hotels near Stateline.

South Lake Tahoe Rental Permit #008103. Renewal on August 31, 2017. Exterior web-cams on sight for security and safety. Any tampering of web-cams by anyone in your party will incur an automatic $100 fine. We have very strict rules about trash to protect bears and wildlife. Please respect our neighbors and neighborhood. Three cars maximum and all must be parked on paved driveway. NO SMOKING. Owners are allergic to cigarette smoke so please take it away from the property or additional cleaning fees may be charged.

This house is for fun but the fun must go inside after 9pm. We do allow dogs that are licensed, chipped, collared and have their shots and must be on leash when outside. They can be left outside in the fenced backyard while you are gone (temperature appropriate and with cover) as long as they do not disturb the neighbors with crying/barking/howling. If not, please take them with you or put in a crate inside if you are not to be gone very long. Please use dog towels and blankets found in laundry room and bedroom closets to protect furniture and bedspreads. Renter that books reservation must be 25 years or age or older and have at least one great airbnb reference to use instant book. Weekends are normally a two night minimum and three nights on holiday weekends. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day may have higher minimum nights. Parking on the street during snow is a $200+ fine and towing. We are allowed three vehicles maximum in our carport and driveway. No other on-site parking is allowed. There is NO SMOKING allowed on or in the property- please take a walk. We cannot be held responsible to move reservations, credit nights, or refund costs for weather or road conditions, or other acts of Man or Nature.

Very spacious and comfortable cabin. Loved the gas fireplace adding warmth and atmosphere to the house. Heidi and Brad always responded really quickly to any question we had.

This little 70's Chalet is in an excellent location. It is clean and accommodating, especially if you bring along your dogs. The fenced back yard is great, and our dogs had a blast in what was left of the snow. Speaking of the snow, we were able to use the little incline in the back yard to slide down on discs, and we had a lot of fun doing that. The cabin is exactly as described, so if you feel nostalgia for the 70's, this is definitely your spot! Even if the 70's aren't your thing, it's very comfortable and has everything you'd need. Should we find ourselves in need of a place to stay in Tahoe again, we would definitely return!

I loved the large windows because it felt like indoor outdoor living! The size of the place was perfect for the group we had, and the table and chairs were enough to fit everyone. Everything was clean and comfortable. Thanks Heidi!

Great location to downtown South Lake and not to far from skiing locations. The house is fully stocked and you don't need much besides clothes and food. Highly recommend and this was our second time to this house. We will be back again next year.

Brad and I have been married 22 years and have no children. We love dogs and provide foster care for the Sacramento City Animal Shelter. Brad is in real estate and I run a non-profit promoting recycling and waste reduction. We love to travel and love people so this seemed like a match for us to host travelers with or without dogs. We know how hard it is to find a great place to stay with your dog! We live and let live, are easy going, fun loving people who love natures and want to share the amazing Lake Tahoe with others as well as a little of the 1970's when we grew up and have fond memories of that decade!
