Queen bed, private bath and continental breakfast in private first flor of former caretaker's cottage. Built in 1931 and on the Hawaii State Historical Ledger, we are one mile from the Hawaii's Volcanoes Nat'l Park and only 8 minutes for the lava viewing area.

For this unit there are no cooking facilities available. You do have a small frig, coffee maker and tea kettle.

We staff from 7:30 until 5 daily and can answer questions and make suggestions for daily hiking or site seeing adventures.
You are coming to a remote part of the Big Island, arrtists, writers, dancers, scuptors abound. The forest setting makes it condusive to the creative minds. Don't expect night life beyond the lava viewing which is a magical moment.
Please make arrangements to rent a car prior to arrival. There is limited bus and taxi service on the island and a taxi ride from Hilo to Volcano can reach over $100. The park is very large and has no shuttle service. YOU WILL NEED A CAR.

Because airbnb does not yet collect state and local taxes, we will need to collect those on arrival. A total due, depending on number of nights booked, will be sent with your final confirmation. We have no cleaning fee and no service fees.
We don't like a lot of rules but we do like reasonable and curteous guests.

I will be completing 23 years as an innkeeper this month, July 26! Who would have thought a Leo would last this long in a rainforest.................surprise. I go back to Kentucky once a year to see my family but am filled with wonderlust and the need to explore. Next chapter perhaps.
