The Molesworth House c. 1937, a vintage, period style home, was built by Paul Hindman, Master Craftsman for Thomas Molesworth during the height of the Molesworth Arts & Crafts period, and is the encompassed collection of cowboy design, decor and local western art. Without being present at the time" you can still experience the "Art Deco" period of a blended cowboy, western and Native American Indian design. Paul Hindman and his brother grew up in the main house next door.

We hope you have a wonderful stay. Please take the time to read through this document it is based on some of the things we have encountered with our past guests and has a lot of useful information about "this old house"!

Lay of the Land
With five bedrooms (1-King, 3-Queens, 1-Double Pullout) 1-Twin Pullout,
1-Queen Airbed, 2-Single Roll-Aways, 2 full baths, kitchen, dining room, entertainment room and living room this property can accommodate up to 12-15 guests based on double occupancy. Linens for the main level are in the Rodeo Queen bedroom closet. Linens for the pull-out on the lower level Bunk House are in the cabinet.

Each room has TV, WiFi and A/C. Property includes most current amenities, full kitchen, BBQ grill, porch with patio, fire pit (byow), common office area with computer & printer/scanner and a nice private yard right in the historic heart of downtown Cody, Wyoming.

Within walking or pedal distance to all downtown attractions, you can easily frequent restaurants, wine pubs, coffee shops, bars, breweries, groceries, pharmacy, nightly gunfights, gift shops, art galleries, museums, parks, bike paths, river walks, tennis court, basketball court, fitness center, live entertainment nightly and more.

She's a Grand Old House - Be Gentle
Because it has taken me 15 years to slowly bring back most of the home's historical presence, it is important to me that you treat the house and it's furnishings as I do everyday....with a gentle hand. Slamming doors is frowned upon. There are drink coasters everywhere please use them.

Do not leave wet towels on the wood floor or furniture, you will find hooks and hangers in every room or closet. Our white bath towels are for your bathing, not for cleaning your horse, hog or auto. Walgreens or the Dollar Store has great Microsoft towels for purchase. There are cleaning rags under the kitchen sink. There is a bucket and bike wash under the stairs outside. There is both HOT/COLD water available on the alley side of the house.

Fire Pit/Gas Grill
You can buy packages of split logs at Albertsons or The Maverick C-Store on Big Horn Ave. Please keep your fires small and make sure to use the water hose and put the fire out completely before going to bed. Do not leave the fire burning and leave the property. Since the house is entirely "made of wood", we don't use flame burning candles or the interior fireplace. There is a fire extinguisher in the kitchen for emergencies.

Walgreens has some groceries and is walking distance from the house, 2 blocks East on Rumsey Ave. on Big Horn Ave. If you find the Gas Grill is out of propane, you can take the bottle and have it filled at the local Exxon Gas Station down town for $15. They are open until 8 pm.

Media Room & Library
The Media room is downstairs. You will find tapes, videos, PlayStation2 console/games in the wood buffet against the wall. The library upstairs is my personal collection, please feel free to browse and read but return the books when you leave. The artwork and collectibles are my personal passion over a 20 year period, please do not move art around or take souvenirs as you will be charged. There is plenty of that for purchase at one of our downtown retailers.

Again, this is an old house and has old plumbing. Only use the washer when no one is using any of the showers. Do not leave the property during a wash cycle as we have had the sewer back up on occasion. If this happens turn the washer OFF immediately and call ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN).

If the toilet backs up, shut the water off below the stool and call ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). The toilet in the lower level is a very expensive toilet. It has an electrical pump inside. Please do not flush anything but POO & PEE or it will cost you lots of MONEE to fix.

Power/Lights/Air Conditioning/Fans
Please turn off all the lights as well as the AIR CONDITIONING when you leave the house. You can leave the ceiling fan on in the main room just to keep the air circulating. There are small fans in the CABIN QUEEN bedroom closet.

When using curling irons and blow dryers, do NOT plug them into to old looking outlets (dark brown), they will not support the wattage. Use the NEW outlets (white) near the bathroom sinks or the black power strips in the bedrooms. Please make sure to unplug your curling irons after use or before leaving the house. If for some reason you trip the breaker, you will find the breaker box at the top of the stairs to the lower level.

If a storm knocks out the power, there are battery back up flashlights located in the main level bathroom, kitchen and in some bedrooms.

The Lawn
Please do not park any motor vehicles on the lawn, it will kill the grass. The sprinklers are set to come on automatically TUE-THURS-SAT. Do NOT unplug the timer or it will loose it's settings and there will be a fee to reset. If you move the lounge chairs on the grass be advised they will get wet from the sprinkler system, please move them pack to the patio so they do not rust.

We have had more storms than usual this last few years. The hail, wind and rain can cause the antenna to loose connection with the TV. So, if you find you have no channels make sure of the following:
INPUT - should be set to TV
NO SIGNAL - go to menu and do an "auto scan", when finished it should show 6 DIGITAL CHANNELS found.
If the remote is still not working, check the batteries. If it still does not work then it has lost communication with the TV, use the TV buttons direct on the TV and leave a note for the housekeeper.

Local Wildlife
We have the pleasure of regular visits from the growing population of "town" deer. They like to visit in the morning, afternoon and at dusk. Don't be surprised if you run into them in the yard. "Dutch" is my Australian Sheppard dog. She is 16 years old, friendly but partially deaf and very retired. If you see her in the yard approach SLOWLY. "Calamity Jane" is the neighbors cat however she spends her days roaming around the neighborhood and napping on my furniture. She is very friendly and likes to be petted. We mow and clean up the yard on the weekends (usually) weather dependent. Once in awhile the neighborhood dogs and deer will make deposits in my yard...fair warning.

The Alley
Please be careful walking off the porch into the alley. We do have some neighbors that speed down the alley. Make sure the kids do not PLAY in the alley, it is HIGHLY not recommended.

Parties & Unregistered Guests
Unregistered guests are not allowed on the property. Private parties must be approved by the property manager PRIOR to the event. Additional charges may apply. This is a quite neighborhood and you need to respect the neighbors around you. Outdoor music must be kept at a reasonable volume and shut completly off after 9 pm.

Leave it as you found it
When you leave, please make sure to turn down linens on beds used, please leave them ON THE BED, not on the floor. You can leave the wet towels in the bathtub/shower or on the bathroom hooks. Wash dirty dishes and put them back where you found them as best you can. Bag up all garbage and put it in the dumpster just outside the kitchen in the alley. If you have moved furniture around put it back where you found it when you arrived the best you can.

Was very pleased with this stay. We had 10 people in the home and with the outdoor space and bedrooms we never felt crowded. The outdoor kitchen was amazing and we used it everyday. Highly recommend.

This place worked out great for our visit to Cody! There was even Coffee for our first morning there! I like staying in a home so much better than a hotel. The front porch was great for visiting and there is a nice covered area, too! It was much quieter than we expected. We didn't hear the noise from the main road at all. Thank You for making this great old home available!

An eccentric gem near Yellowstone. The antiques in the home will keep you entertained. Home has all the amenities to make your stay comfortable.

This house is located in a pleasant, quiet neighborhood yet only a short walk from some great restaurants and shops. The house has plenty of appliances available and a charming front porch. The seven of us had little space available inside because of all the furniture and there was very little storage space available for us to unpack.

Hi Simon, We appreciate the feedback and are addressing the storage issues. As with most vintage houses, large closets and "extra" storage was NOT the trend. This is the first year we have opened the doors to large groups and are making updates accordingly. Thanks, Peg

We loved staying in Peggy's home in Cody. It was two blocks off of main street where there are tons of shops and restaurants and only about 50 minutes from the east entrance of Yellowstone. The home fit our needs perfectly and the front porch was our favorite part, sun in the morning and shade in the evening the swing was my favorite spot. If you are lucky, there are deer that come and nap in the evergreens in the front yard. We will be staying there again if we are ever that way again.

My family was gathering in Cody for a nephew's wedding, and the Molesworth House was the perfect place for four couples to stay. The location couldn't be better, right in town, within easy walking distance to coffee, bars and restaurants. We didn't cook much, but the kitchen looked very well equipped and there was a close-by grocery store. Peg was a great host. She left us plenty of clear and helpful information about the house and the town. I highly recommend the house for your visit to Cody.

I have been playing music in and around the Cody Wyoming area for over 22+ years. I have gotten to play with some of the most talented artists in the area.

Recently I have had the pleasure of playing with Billy Browning- vocals/fiddle/guitar, Tony Layman-vocals/standup bass/guitar under the playbill of “Peggy and The Playboys”.
