We had a great time here in this rustic but beautiful cottage. Already talking about going back next year.

Fantastic homey rustic cottage - the value is amazing and the location can't be beat. Supplies were easy to pick up in Port Rowan. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend to friends!

Allan - perhaps the professionally managed and meticulously cleaned Long Point Beach Club at $3,700 a week (2 bedroom) would have been a smarter choice for your stay here on the point. Instead you decided to rent a "rustic and classic" 4 bedroom cottage right close to the main beach for less than a 1/3 of the cost. As indicated in the cottage manual that was sent to you a full propane bottle was available to you just for the asking when you run out. Thanks for your feedback nevertheless - we will continue to improve this quaint beach/boating/fishing/hunting cabin and my sincere dream is that one day we can satisfy your exacting standards when we can invite you back again. We may have to raise our rates a bit then. ;)

Very well stocked cottage. Sig provided coffee pods, water, soaps, bags, towels, chairs. Location was excellent. Very short walk to the stunning beach. The backyard could use some cleanup to reduce the bugs, but that is cottage life.

Very dirty.

Thank you for your concise yet brief review Serena. We take all feedback seriously. We improved our cleaning services in the following areas: steam cleaned all carpets, washed all other floors, provided a new canister HEPA vacuum cleaner. Sorry this couldn't be provided in time for your visit. Please tell us how we can make this up to you. We hope that you still managed to have a good time given that you were the benefactors of the best summer beach weather any of our other guests would have been fortunate and totally delighted by. The beach is coveted, loved and visited by thousands of visitors each summer and yet that didn't seem to have mattered enough to you to even mention it in your insightful review. Dirty cottage! I'll give that to you. No excuses. We take full ownership of that. However was there nothing else that made your stay enjoyable in any way ..... in an internationally recognised natures paradise ?? Canada's southern shore! Beaches, birds, fish, turtles, fishing, cycling, zip lining, wineries ???? Couldn't think of one good thing? "Very dirty" THANK YOU

This is a true "retro" cottage that baby boomers will recognize, from screen door creaks to old-fashioned crank windows to the pebbled hearth. If you're looking for fancy and modern - uh uh. If you want to recapture the feel of the well-loved family cottage with its one-of-a-kind construction and quirky nooks and crannies, this is it. The loft bedroom with its clerestory windows is light and airy, and with the windows open to hear the birds, feels like a tree house. The kitchen is well-equipped. and well-lit with its skylight. Our host provided a lovely "breakfast starter kit" in the fridge. Thanks Sig! Leave your technology at home and bring some books to read - no WiFi here, and a few TV channels. If you're looking to reconnect to family and nature, this is the place to be. No A/C either but every room has a fan and there's a cool breeze through when all the windows are open. Wood fireplace if it's chilly in the evening. The beach is a couple of minutes away, just across Erie Blvd for a nice morning run or evening stroll. The lot is shaded with trees, and if you're lucky there may still be a supply of birdseed to attract nuthatches, finches, chipmunks and even a cottontail to the bird feeder just outside the living room window. Sitting outside in the shade may require bug repellent.

Great location and very sweet hosts who were very helpful but if you go in the middle of June you will be overwhelmed by a 2 week hatch of what some described as fish flies. It made eating out or relaxing on the deck nealy impossible. Plus the mosquitos were pervasive. There is a lovely beach across the street but the flies were there too but the biggest problem was a lack of amenities open in June during the weekdays. We couldnt rent a boat or have lunch at the beach cafe and if you need eggs and bread - you have to drive 15 minutes each way. Great pricing in June but maybe a higher price in July is worth the convenience.

Thanks for the feedback. I will update the Cottage manual to include a better description of amenity availability for the non peak months. That would be very helpful for those guests who are not familiar with the area. The fly/mosquito situation varies tremendously each year and each month. This year June was unusually bad due to the prolonged cool and wet spring. Standing water around the cottages, high water levels, the channels etc. unfortunately produced a large volume of nuisance flies/mosquitos this year. Next year June might be much better. It's hard to predict.
