I enjoyed my weeklong stay. I expected something a bit grander from the listing of an “Idyllischen Aufbau,” although perhaps that means something different in German from the way it sounds to my Anglophone ears. The place was a perfectly decent two- or three-bedroom flat. The room was very clean and comfortable; it had a straight-backed chair but no armchair, nor was there a common living room, so when I wanted to sit and read the bed was it. People sensitive to traffic noise might want to know that the bedroom is situated right on a rather busy corner. The listing mentioned “Breakfast”, which did not materialize. Nina met me, showed me in a perfectly friendly manner my room and the kitchen, and then left for the week. Her roommate, very friendly too, was there, and generously invited me to dine with her and her friend when she cooked a favorite recipe of her mother’s. There were a few nights when my rhythm and those of the house were not in sync; I was getting up very early, walking a lot throughout the day and returning exhausted in the early evening. Because of the proximity of the bedroom to the kitchen and bathroom, going to sleep very early was sometimes difficult. Over all, the building felt very secure, it was easy to get to public transportation and to walk to the Marienplatz area, and I’d be happy to recommend the room to anyone who isn’t going to want to go to bed early.

I work as an editor/graphic designer in Stuttgart and absolutely believe in the sharing culture! I really enjoy getting to know new places and people around the world and have a closer look at the city by rather living in a flat than in a usual hotel room. I love arts, fashion, good food and all the other things that make life beautiful.
